INCIDENTS
Officer Brent McKemie reported at 9:37 p.m. March 19 he responded to a location on Preacher Roe Boulevard regarding an incident of theft. The suspects were identified, and the victim did not wish to pursue charges. However, one of the suspects had an active warrant and was arrested.
Officers were dispatched at 9:55 p.m. March 19 to a home on Crestwood Circle regarding an assault. A woman showed signs of injury including redness and swelling to her arm. A man was taken into custody pending charges for third-degree domestic assault. Cpl. Wes Stuart.
Officer McKemie reported at 2:40 a.m. March 20 he initiated a traffic stop on Broadway for an inoperable license plate light. It was discovered the driver did not have a valid license and was ticketed on that charge.
At 7:58 a.m. March 20, officers were dispatched to a home on St. Louis Street regarding a domestic disturbance. It was discovered the involved parties were arguing and no physical altercation took place. No charges. Officer Conner Burnes.
Officer Burnes reported at 8:46 a.m. March 20 he was dispatched to a location on Grace Avenue where a man broke into a vehicle and was discovered inside the vehicle by the owner, but the owner didn't wish to pursue charges.
Cpl. Brandon Stephens reported at 9:29 a.m. March 20 he responded to a home on Jackson Street, where he found a woman with an active warrant and arrested her. She was taken to the city jail where she posted bail and was released.
Officers responded at 10:05 a.m. March 20 to Kentucky Avenue to investigate a vehicle accident in which one of the drivers left the scene. The incident is under investigation. Officer Burnes.
At 1:39 p.m. March 20 Cpl. Stephens was dispatched to First Baptist Church on Walnut Street to investigate property damage. It was determined a man entered the church and caused damage throughout the building. The case was forwarded to detectives.
Officers were dispatched at 4:22 p.m. March 20 to a location on South Arkansas Avenue regarding a disturbance where a man was on top of a vehicle he didn't own. It was learned the man is autistic and nonverbal, and had assaulted another person, who didn't wish to pursue charges. The man was taken to Ozarks Healthcare for treatment and the case is closed. At 5:17 p.m. March 20, Officer McKemie reported he responded to McFarland Drive to investigate a disturbance. A man attempted to assault another man and threatened to kill him. Charges are pending.
At 7:57 p.m. March 20, Officer Whitley Clark was dispatched to Dollar General on Preacher Roe Boulevard regarding a crash in which one of the vehicles left the scene. The incident is under investigation.
Officers responded at 9:26 p.m. March 20 to a home on Texas Avenue regarding a woman who had barricaded herself in her bathroom and was cutting her wrist. She was taken to Ozarks Healthcare for treatment. Officer Clark.
Officer McKemie reported at 9:50 p.m. March 20 he took a report of lost or stolen property.
At 10:32 p.m. March 20, Officer McKemie reported he responded to a home on Woodland Avenue regarding a combative, nonverbal autistic man who had assaulted a caretaker. The caretaker did not wish to pursue charges and the man who had attacked the caretaker was taken to Ozarks Healthcare for evaluation.
At 12:38 a.m. March 21, Officer McKemie initiated a traffic stop on Missouri Avenue for expired tags, resulting in a probable cause search and the seizure of suspected controlled substances. Charges are pending crime lab results.
Cpl. Stephens reported at 10:45 a.m. March 21 he was dispatched to Preacher Roe Boulevard near Walgreens to investigate a vehicle accident, and discovered one of the drivers had an active Oregon County warrant. The driver was arrested and taken to the Howell County Jail, where he was released on bail.
Officers were dispatched at 12:38 p.m. March 21 to a home on St. Louis Street regarding a domestic disturbance. Both parties reported they had been arguing, and a man was arrested on an outstanding warrant and transported to the sheriff's department. No charges. Officer Burnes.
At 3:30 p.m. March 21, women's clothing and personal items were found on Missouri Avenue. They may be claimed at the police department. Cpl. Stuart.
Cpl. Josh Wichowski reported at 9:35 p.m. March 21 he responded to a home on Lambert Lane to assist South Howell County Ambulance personnel with an unresponsive woman, who was determined to be deceased. A report was completed for documentation purposes.
