Acts 2:1-21 details the coming of the Holy Spirit upon Jesus’ followers after he ascended into heaven. On the Day of Pentecost, people heard and understood for themselves the good news of Jesus Christ. Many believed and the church had its beginning.
From that day on people realized that God’s personal and powerful presence in the world would always be with them. How the Holy Spirit works is a mystery, yet through the Spirit, the love of God inspires, guides and comforts us; the Spirit of Christ lifts us up when we are weary.
Invite the Holy Spirit into your life today. Take time to breathe, relax and pray. Open yourself to the evidence of the Spirit in your being, and remember Paul’s words, “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22-23). God bless your week!
