Zizzers ready to blaze up the courts

If the definition of a Zizzer means being a person of the highest caliber, the brave boys that put on the tennis uniform and hit the court in this continuing COVID-19 nightmare of a season for the West Plains High School tennis team are definitely entitled to call themselves Zizzers.

That virus will not deter these fierce competitors who leave it all on the court every time they compete.

The Davidian Zizzers face not one, but multiple Goliaths as several of the teams in their district have built dynasties of tennis excellence.

Thanks to COVID-19 the team was forced to cancel last year’s season, disappointing the tremendously skilled group of seniors who didn’t get their chance to shine.

There are those teams who would say it’s a good year to take the season, but those teams aren’t the Zizzers. The Zizzers continue to fight hard and hope learn a lot this season. Their growth so far has been exponential and worthy of commendation.

The Zizzers are earning their stripes this season, and have put a few stripes on their opponents as well.

If the team continues to learn and grow in the seasons to come as it has done thus far, the West Plains High School tennis team will be a force with which to be reckoned.
