Zizzers take their marks for state

The Zizzer boys and girls track and field teams departed Thursday morning for Jefferson City to compete in the Class 4 state championships, held Friday and continuing today. The team members were encouraged by members of the cheerleading squad, junior varsity team members, faculty and staff. They then boarded the bus and made a stop at the elementary school where they were greeted by summer school students before heading to Ozark Cafe to fill up before going on to Jefferson City. Both teams earned their spots in the competition by defeating Carl Junction on May 17, where they took the district title, then qualifying 19 members on May 24 at Sectionals in Waynesville.
