In a Friday night high school football showdown filled with intensity and resilience, the West Plains Zizzers edged out a dramatic 34-27 win over long-time rivals Carl Junction at Zizzer Stadium. Both teams came prepared, with Carl Junction immediately seizing momentum, taking the kickoff to the Zizzers’ 19-yard line and quickly scoring a touchdown for a 7-0 lead. The Zizzers’ first offensive series ended in a punt, but their defense began to find its rhythm. Key tackles from Ethan Miller, Jackson Taylor, and Jaxon Hunter held Carl Junction to a field goal, widening the gap to 10-0.
