West Plains School District reports many of the district facility improvements being performed this summer are ahead of schedule.
The high school roofing improvements are ahead of schedule and the classrooms in the basement of the elementary are in the final stages of completion for the remodeling that has been occurring, said Director of Communications Lana Snodgras.
The gym at South Fork Elementary has been repainted. Lighting improvements are continuing as eight electricians begin working at the high school and continue working on the other buildings.
Parking lots districtwide are being repaved during June and July.
District officials ask that the high school front circle parking lot be avoided and remind everyone that the service road behind the high school gym up to the middle school and the bus loading zone remains closed for the summer.
As a reminder students, staff and visitors should use the sidewalks and park in the student parking areas at the high school located near the tennis courts and stadium.
Updates on the progress can be viewed on the school website, www.zizzers.org, and Facebook page West Plains Schools-Home of the Zizzers.
