The Yellow House Community Arts Center founded in 1994 by Dr. Ken Shafer, is a local staple and proud supporter of the fine arts. Larry and Nanette Weaver initially ran the house at 209 W. Trish Knight St. in West Plains as a restaurant with space for musical performances and a dance studio in the old garage. more

The West Plains Council on the Arts will host two "gossiping chicken" gourd painting workshops from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday in the Dogwood rooms at the West Plains Civic Center, 110 St. Louis St. The cost of the workshop is $35, all supplies included. more
With a wall of paintings on display, Johnnie Lee Fullington, 31, West Plains, conducted a show and sale during his art show reception Thursday at the Frame Shop and Gallery, 403 Washington Ave. in West Plains. The event was Fullington's first solo exhibition.  more
