View-Birch Tree Liberty High School on Friday night, the Thayer Lady Bobcats and the Liberty Lady Eagles squared off in an intense showdown between two of the fiercest rivals in the South Central Association. With district title implications on the line, both teams left everything on the court, but it was the Lady Bobcats who surged late, capitalizing on Liberty’s missed free throws to secure a hard-fought 71-64 victory.

On New Year’s Eve, the Thayer Lady Bobcats delivered a basketball clinic in perseverance and grit, roaring back from an early deficit to claim the consolation trophy in the Pink Division of the 2024 Pink and White Lady Classic. In a game that kept fans on the edge of their seats, Thayer edged the Bolivar Lady Liberators, 44-39, capping a remarkable tournament run.
