On New Year’s Eve, the Thayer Lady Bobcats delivered a basketball clinic in perseverance and grit, roaring back from an early deficit to claim the consolation trophy in the Pink Division of the 2024 Pink and White Lady Classic. In a game that kept fans on the edge of their seats, Thayer edged the Bolivar Lady Liberators, 44-39, capping a remarkable tournament run. To sweeten the celebration, the Lady Bobcats were also honored with the tournament’s prestigious Sportsmanship Award.

The Mtn. View-Birch Tree Liberty Lady Eagles had an unforgettable week of volleyball, capped off by milestone achievements, team victories, and a heartfelt senior night celebration. On Tuesday, Oct. 15, the Lady Eagles took a trip to Salem to face the Salem Lady Tigers, sweeping them in three sets with scores of 25-10, 25-14, and 25-17. It was a night of triumph, not only in the scoreboard but in the record books as well. Senior libero Kaylie Wagner earned her 1,000th career dig, and Head Coach Shari Tune reached a historic 500th career win—both massive accomplishments that left the team and fans beaming with pride.

The Bakersfield High School Lady Lions golf team showed grit and determination as they competed on Oct. 14 at the Class 1 District 1 tournament held at the Bill and Payne Stewart golf course in Springfield.
