Bakersfield School has been named one of 50 state winners in the 15th annual Samsung Solve for Tomorrow competition, and received a Samsung technology package valued at $12,000, including a Samsung Galaxy Book and a Galaxy Z Flip to use for the production of a three-minute pitch video. The video must demonstrate how S.T.E.M. is being applied to address the community issue outlined in the student team's activity plans. more

Jordyn Sigman, a 2023 graduate of West Plains High School, has joined the Ozarks Teacher Corps, a special scholarship program managed by the Community Foundation of the Ozarks to recruit teachers for rural school districts. more
The Ozarka College Board of Trustees recently announced its selection of Dr. Josh Wilson, vice president of advancement at Ozarka in Melbourne, Ark., as the next president of the college. more
West Plains Elementary teacher Haley Falterman was recently celebrated for being selected as a 2024 McDonald’s Outstanding Educator. Porter Waggoner McDonald’s General Manager Kayla Butler and Hilburn-Vaini McDonald’s Supervisor Michael McBride visited the school to present Falterman with the award and a $100 gift card. more
