Two Oregon County women are each charged with stealing $750 or more when a landlord who had evicted them reportedly discovered appliances had been stolen and damage had been done to the house.
Chasytee L. Case, 33, and Sabrina Mae Desirae Denker, 28, both of Koshkonong, allegedly took a refrigerator and stove from a rent house on Thornburgh Street after they had moved out, plus the house was in “horrible condition,” according to the landlord, quoted in a probable cause statement.
The two denied any knowledge of the missing appliances and the landlord submitted a complaint.
It was learned the two had been staying at a home on County Road 6070, and the appliances were found in the yard of a home on County Road 6070 and photographed by the landlord, who then contacted the police.
The next day West Plains Police Detective Bryan Brauer went to the home, but the appliances were gone. The man living there told police he bought the refrigerator and stove from Case and Denker about two weeks prior for $30, then sold them for scrap earlier that day.
He told Brauer the women told them the appliances belonged to them and they had moved them from their prior residence.
The two women have been issued a summons and are scheduled for arraignment July 15 in Howell County Associate Court.
