A Willow Springs girl was seriously injured and five others hurt in a two-vehicle collision at 10:02 p.m. Saturday on north U.S. 63 and P Highway in Pomona, according to Troop G of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Willow Springs.

The crash reportedly happened when a 1997 Infiniti 130 driven westbound on P Highway by Ludmila V. Vyrovchtchikova, 17, Willow Springs, pulled into the path of a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 driven southbound on U.S. 63 by Samu T. Jokiaho, 30, of Turku, Finland.

Vyrovchtchikova and her passengers are all from Willow Springs. She and Akim L. Vyrovchtchikov, 15, and Seveliy V. Vyrovchtchikova, 3, each suffered minor injuries and passenger Miroslav V. Vyrovchtchikov, 13, suffered moderate injuries.

Aleksandra V. Vyrovchtchikova, 11, suffered serious injuries. All were taken to Ozarks Medical Center (OMC) in West Plains by ambulance for treatment, according to the patrol. The report shows it was unknown whether Miroslav V. Vyrovchtchikov was wearing a seat belt, but the rest of the injured were wearing seat belts except for Aleksandra V. Vyrovchtchikova.

A passenger in the Chevrolet, Helena Jokiaho, 65, of Turku, Finland, suffered minor injuries. She was reportedly taken to OMC by private vehicle for treatment.

Both vehicles were totaled in the accident, which was investigated by Trooper D.A. Huffman and Trooper T.W. Meyer.

MORE CRASHES SATURDAY

A West Plains woman suffered moderate injuries at 12:10 a.m. Saturday when the ATV she was driving left the road and overturned. The accident happened on E Highway, five miles south of South Fork, according to Troop G.

Trooper T.W. Meyer, assisted by Msgt. S.L. Nelson, reported a 2011 Polaris Sportsman 500 driven northbound by Rachella D. Hixon, 34, ran off the left side of the road, Hixon overcorrected and the ATV overturned.

Hixon was taken to OMC in West Plains by ambulance, according to the patrol. She was reportedly not wearing a helmet. The ATV was removed by the owner.

Two Willow Springs residents were injured in a one-vehicle accident at 7 a.m. Saturday on Highway 181 in Douglas County, eight miles west of Willow Springs, according to Troop G.

Cpl. J.S. Cunningham reported a 2007 Chevrolet Impala driven northbound by Ethan A. Smith, 28, ran off the road and struck a tree. Smith suffered minor injuries and passenger Jacklyn G. Wake, 35, suffered moderate injuries.

Neither were reportedly wearing seat belts and both were transported to private vehicle to OMC for treatment. The vehicle was totaled and removed from the scene by a second party. Cunningham was assisted in the accident investigation by Trooper C.A. Kimes.

THREE HURT IN OREGON COUNTY

Two Alton residents were injured, one of them seriously, when a pickup truck ran off the road and struck a tree at 9:55 a.m. Monday on Oregon County Road 105, according to the patrol.

Trooper Kimes reported a 2002 Chevrolet 1500 driven northbound by Don Caruthers, 79, also of Alton, ran off the right side of the road.

Passenger Donna J. Caruthers, 77, suffered serious injuries and Betty K. McGuire, 94, suffered minor injuries. Both were taken by ambulance to OMC for treatment, according to Troop G. All were reportedly wearing seat belts.
