Charlotte Evelyne Harris Franke

Praise God for our mother, Charlotte Evelyne Harris Franke, who went home to be with her Lord on Sept. 11, 2018, in Frisco, Texas. Charlotte Harris Franke was born Nov. 3, 1938, in Mineral Wells, Texas, to Jack Pete Harris and Evelyne Swindle Harris. She was the granddaughter of John Ervin Harris and Stella Madeline Foster Harris of Mineral Wells. She attended the University of Texas. She was a proud fifth generation descendent of the founders of the Republic of Texas and was a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.

She was united in marriage on May 30, 1964, in Irving, Texas, to Ernest Rudolph Franke.

Charlotte was survived by three daughters, Evelyne Franke, of Thayer, Kimberly Franke, of Thayer, and Jaqulyn Harris Hoes, of Blum, Texas; two sons, Jack Franke of Monterey, Calif., and Dan Franke of Plano, Texas; 20 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; other relatives; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Ernest Rudolph Franke; her parents, Jack Pete Harris and Evelyne Harris; and one sister, Carol Yvonne Harris.

Charlotte worked in commercial food sales, both in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and nationally.

Charlotte was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Thayer.

She enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Funeral services for Charlotte Harris Franke will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018, at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, with Pastor Pam Ekey officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, 2018, at Carter Funeral Home in Thayer.

Burial will be in Thayer Cemetery with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.
