Posted

Finding funding is a hurdle for many small businesses. Officials with the Missouri Small Business Development Center in West Plains and the Ozarks Small Business Incubator will host a free workshop designed to demystify the borrowing process and unlock a world of financial possibilities for both new and existing businesses.

Becoming a Better Borrower will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday at OzSBI, 408 Washington Ave., in West Plains, and will equip participants with the knowledge and resources to navigate the lending landscape with confidence.

Expert insights

Participants will gain invaluable guidance from Krishin Thadani, U.S. Small Business Administration, sharing commercial lending expertise; Mel Steele, SBDC, highlighting business development programs and services; Ila Sloan, OzSBI, discussing microlending opportunities and incubator guidance; Sheridan Garman-Neeman and Kim Carter, New Capital Growth, explaining their microlending programs; and representatives from the New Growth Women's Business Center, answering personal credit questions and offering credit repair programs.

“Becoming a Better Borrower can benefit businesses across the spectrum,” Steele said. “Whether you need seed funding, new sources of funding or guidance on the process, we have the experts all in one room who can set you on the right path.”

Preregistration is required for this free workshop. Contact Steele at 417-255-7966 or MelvinSteele@MissouriState.edu for details.
