CBCO, OZH team up to host Dec. 27 blood drive

Posted

The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks and Ozarks Healthcare are calling on community members to cap off the year by donating blood at a drive Dec. 27.

Seasoned donors and first-timers alike can show compassion and kindness to local patients by rolling up their sleeves to give blood. While supplies last, donors will receive a limited-edition CBCO blanket.

The blood drive will be held from noon to 6 p.m. at the Willard Hunter Classroom in Parkway Center, 1211 Porter Wagoner Blvd., West Plains.

The CBCO provides all blood for patients at Ozarks Healthcare and dozens of other facilities across the Ozarks. Each donation can help save up to three lives, officials point out.

To ensure a smooth process, donors are reminded to drink plenty of water or juice the night and morning before giving blood, eat a well-balanced meal two to three hours before giving, and bring a photo ID, required for all donors.

Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are encouraged to minimize wait times. Schedule an appointment at www.cbco.org/donate-blood or by calling 417-227-5006.
