Ozark Independent Living (O.I.L.) has made a $500 donation to Cystic Fibrosis of West Plains as part of the yearly fundraising drive to raise money for cystic fibrosis research. The genetic disease affects the mucus membranes of the lungs, causing thick fluid buildup that is difficult to expel and requiring a lifetime of breathing treatments and therapies. This year's fundraiser is different in that the usual annual music concert has been postponed due to ongoing restrictions on crowd size. The event is expected to return next year, but the need for donations continues, and contributions may be made by mailing a check to Cystic Fibrosis of West Plains, 1619 Webster Ave., West Plains, MO 65775.
