THAYER CEMETERY
At 5 p.m. Friday, the Thayer American Legion Post 344 will place American flags along both sides of the entrance road into the Thayer Cemetery, to be placed graveside.
Visitors to the cemetery are encouraged to pick up flags and put them on the graves of veterans.

HOMELAND CEMETERY
The Homeland Cemetery Association will meet at 10 a.m. today at the cemetery on County Road 6310 off of West U.S. 160 near West Plains.
Anyone interested in cemetery upkeep should attend. Donations for maintenance costs will be accepted at the meeting, or may be mailed to Melva Johnson, 4163 State Route AB, West Plains, MO 65775.
JOLLIFF CEMETERY
Jolliff Cemetery will hold its annual Decoration Day celebration on Saturday with a business meeting at 11 a.m.
The cemetery is located on Oregon County Road 338 near Rover. Take U.S. 160 east about a mile past M Highway, turn right on County Road 335, and follow that road around the curve where it turns into County Road 338 about 1.3 miles.
FREE UNION CEMETERY
Decoration Day services will be be held Sunday at Free Union Cemetery on County Road 7130 near Leota.
A potluck lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m., followed by a business meeting. An auction will be held, with proceeds benefiting the cemetery.
CAVE SPRINGS CEMETERY
The annual meeting of the Cave Spring Cemetery Board will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the cemetery, Oregon County Road 210 off E Highway near Alton. Everyone is welcome to attend.
EVERGREEN CEMETERY
Evergreen Cemetery’s annual meeting will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday. Anyone interested in Evergreen Cemetery is urged to attend.
The cemetery is located about 6 miles south of West Plains on County Road 8530. Anyone interested in the cemetery is invited to attend.
Evergreen Cemetery is maintained with funds by donation. Anyone who would like to contribute but is unable to attend may mail to Cheryl Finley, 10950 State Route 17, West Plains, MO 65775.
HOWELL COUNTY MEMORIAL DAY SERVICE
Retired Col. Crockett Oaks will be the guest speaker at the Howell County Memorial Day service at 10 a.m. Monday at Oak Lawn Cemetery in West Plains.
The event is hosted by local Disabled American Veterans, Albert Cook-Vernon Wickham Memorial Chapter.
The Honor Guard will present the flag and provide a 21-gun salute. Placement of the memorial wreath will be by Daughters of the American Revolution and Gold Star Family members. Local resident Angie Totty will sing the national anthem. The benediction will be by Rev. Dennis McGinley.
