Despite chilly weather, Thayer Fall Festival has great turnout
Despite falling temperatures and windy conditions, there was a great turnout at the Thayer Chamber of Commerce Fall Festival held Saturday in downtown Thayer. There were plenty of games of skill for the younger set, many of them fundraisers for local youth and religious organizations. Here, a girl takes a turn at trying to climb a rope ladder to reach a $20 bill taped to the top, but gets topsy-turvy before reaching her goal and landing upside down on the straw laid down below.

A cupcake walk was held, with winners choosing from a plate piled high with the sugary treats.
The Jumping Jacks played that funky music for the festival crowd. Other performers included the Highway W Band and Molly Corman.
Thayer Fall Festival activities for children were abundant Saturday, with bounce houses, games, face painting and a miniature "train" for kids to ride.
Antique cars are always a crowd favorite and were on display at the Thayer Chamber of Commerce Fall Festival, held Saturday in downtown Thayer.
