Howell Valley, Junction Hill schools set screening dates

Posted

Howell Valley and Junction Hill schools have set dates for kindergarten and preschool screening sessions for incoming students planning to enroll for the 2024-25 school year.

Howell Valley will hold its new preschooler and kindergartener screenings by appointment between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. March 6 in the school’s FEMA building. Junction Hill School will hold its screenings, also by appointment, March 20.

At both schools, to be eligible for preschool, students must be age 4 before Aug. 1, and for kindergarten, age 5 before the same date.

A parent or legal guardian must accompany each child to the screening and will need to bring the child’s birth certificate, immunization records and proof of residency within the respective school district, such as a copy of a current utility bill or rental agreement.

Junction Hill officials expect screenings to take about an hour to complete, and note that spots will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. In the event of inclement weather, they add, screenings will be canceled.
