Joe Bill Dixon honored

Posted

Yesterday was a special day at the Zizzer Relays as Legendary Coach Joe Bill Dixon was recognized for his 42 years of service leading the cross-country and track program at West Plains High School. A ceremony following our National Anthem recognized Coach Dixon and renamed the relays after him in his honor. The Zizzer track program wants to thank all of those in attendance for this event and the meet. The Zizzers and Lady Zizzers did not disappoint the legendary coach during the meet as both teams took the team titles in the 20 team event. The West Plains boys team won 9 events and the girls team won 10 events! The other story of the day was Senior Daegan Kenslow breaking the school record in the men's Javelin throw with a toss of 160'11"! He broke former teammate Titus Seley's mark of 156'2" set during the 2021 spring season.

"It was a beautiful sunny day and was very special for my family being able to Recognize Coach Dixon for his career at West Plains High School. I would like to thank our Track & Field staff, administration, and other community volunteers for making this event so special. I was extremely pleased with Our boys and girls team with their spectacular performances in front of our home community. They truly are an inspiration,” said Zizzers Coach Greg Dixon.
