Mobile Mammography Unit announces March visit schedule

In a continued effort to prioritize community wellness, say officials, Ozarks Healthcare’s Mobile Mammography Unit will continue partnering with area businesses to travel and offer mammogram services to surrounding communities through March. 

With the arrival of a new month. Ozarks Healthcare aims to underscore the importance of proactive health measures, especially in the realm of breast cancer detection, officials note. Early detection remains paramount in the fight against breast cancer, say officials, who urge people not to postpone their mammograms.

Ozarks Healthcare’s Mobile Mammography Unit features advanced 3D mammogram screening technology, providing comprehensive examinations. The unit it staffed by dedicated professionals, note officials.

SCHEDULE

The Mobile Mammography Unit will be in place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday at Hirsch Feed & Farm Supply, 789 Worley Drive, and then during the same time frames March 6 at Ozarks Healthcare Winona, 9104 Highway 19, and March 7 at Ozarks Healthcare Mtn. Grove, 500 E. 19th St.

Stops the following week, all from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., include March 12 at Ozarks Healthcare Alton, 100 Medical Drive; March 13 at Town & Country Supermarket, 102 Main St., Gainesville; and March 14 at Ozarks Healthcare Mtn. View, 220 N. Elm St.

During the same hours, the mobile mammography unit will be stationed March 19 at Ozarks Healthcare Thayer, 1375 Nettleton Ave.; March 20 at Ozarks Healthcare Alton, 100 Medical Drive; March 26 at West Plains Bank and Trust Company North Branch, 1601 Porter Wagoner Blvd., West Plains; March 27 at West Plains Bank and Trust Company-Liberty Branch, 607 N. Elm St., Mtn. View; and March 28 at West Plains Bank and Trust Company-Willow Springs Branch, 708 E. Main St.

A stop will also be made from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. March 21 at the Fordland Clinic, 1059 Barton Drive.

Patients are encouraged schedule a mammogram to take place at a location from this schedule ahead of time by calling 417-257-5912. Appointments are limited.

Patients wishing to have mammograms conducted through Ozarks Healthcare’s Mobile Mammography Unit must be female and 40 years or older; have had no mammograms in the past year; not be pregnant or breastfeeding; have no implants or breast issues such as breast discharge, lumps, pain or discoloration; and not have ever been diagnosed with breast cancer.
