Noah Taylor, 18, Eminence, was ticketed at 9:22 p.m. Jan. 20 on a charge of failure to show proof of insurance.

Billy Messex, 31, Mtn. View, was ticketed by Officer Kylie McGee at 7:25 p.m. Jan. 21 on a charge of having a dog at large, then ticketed again by Officer Matthew Combs at 9:57 a.m. Jan. 23 on charges of having a dog at large and exceeding the maximum limit of three animals.

Terri Orchard, 43, Mtn. View, was ticked at 11:25 a.m. Jan. 23 on a charge of speeding by 11-15 mph. Officer Combs.

Kerah Dickson, 29, Birch Tree, was ticketed at 2:15 p.m. Jan. 23, on a charge of failure to wear a seat belt. Officer Combs.

Ethan Vanscoyk, 24, Mtn. View, was ticketed at 6:40 p.m. Jan. 23 on charges of failure to register vehicle, failure to use headlights properly and leaving the scene of an accident. Officer Combs

Jason West, 42, Winona, was ticketed at 6:03 p.m. Jan. 25 on a charge of driving while suspended or revoked. Officer McGee.

CALLS FOR SERVICE

Lt. Trenton Roberts took a complaint Jan. 19 at at the police station regarding a nuisance property.

On Jan. 19, Officer McGee spoke with the owners of an antiques store on East Street who reported a truck had been parked in the business’ lot for a day, and want to know if it could be removed eventually. Since the owner did not want it removed immediately, a tow sticker was placed on the vehicle for its removal in 48 hours.

Officer McGee was dispatched Jan. 19 to Signal gas station to speak to a woman known for drinking alcohol in the store and not wanting to leave. When the officer arrived, the woman was already gone and the manager was advised to issue a trespass order.

On Jan. 20, Officer McGee took a report of a traffic crash involving an unknown vehicle that had fled the scene.

A vehicle was seen on Jan. 20 in the Strike Zone bowling alley parking lot with lights off. Officer McGee made contact with the occupants, who were on a lunch break from work.

On Jan. 20, Officer McGee found a vehicle with its lights on in the parking lot of Countryside Propane. In speaking with the driver, she found out he was the owner’s grandson.

Officer McGee assisted the Missouri State Highway Patrol on Jan. 20 with intoxicated person.

On Jan. 20, Officers Alexis Johnson and McGee removed a large metal door from a road.

Officer McGee heard a commercial alarm Jan. 20 on First Street and identified its location. She was able to contact the key holder, who turned off the alarm.

On Jan. 20, a person called the police station to ask where there were so many officers in an area. Officer Johnson told the caller the area was being patrolled due to a hit-and-run.

Officer Johnson saw a person walking on the side of the road Jan. 20 in 4 degree weather. She checked to see if the person wanted a ride, and he declined, saying he was almost to his destination.

On Jan. 20, Assistant Chief Stetson Schwien responded to West First Street after being notified of a busted water pipe. He confirmed a response from Utilities crews was needed and called the Water Department.

Assistant Chief Schwien was dispatched to Mtn. View Family Youth Center on Jan. 20 for a vehicle parked on private property. An employee advised the car was blocking a driveway, and they would try to find the vehicle’s owner and ask them to move the vehicle.

On Jan. 20, Lt. Roberts was dispatched to East Third Street for an animal complaint. He checked the area and found the animal in the owner’s yard.

A man went to the police station on Jan. 20 to ask if someone from the Water Department was available for a broken water pipe. Lt. Roberts called the Water Department.

On Jan. 20, Officer McGee was dispatched to Signal gas station for assistance removing a woman from the property was drunk and trying to play the chance machines. When the officer arrived, the manager issued a trespass order to the woman.

Officer Combs responded Jan. 21 to a home on Washington Street for a deceased person. The cause of death was determined to be natural.

On Jan. 21, Lt. Roberts was contacted by a woman wanting to know how to get a firearm released from police custody. He gave information.

A woman requested a complaint form on Jan. 21 to be turned in at later time, regarding money stolen from her home. Officer McGee.

On Jan. 21, Officer McGee responded to a 911-hangup call that pinged in the middle of the Walmart parking lot. She found the woman whose phone had called, and the woman said she did not need assistance.

Lt. Roberts took a report of a traffic crash on Jan. 22.

On Jan. 22, a man went to the police station to retrieve property that police had from an earlier incident. The man was advised by Lt. Roberts that the clerk was not in, so he would need to come back when she was.

Lt. Roberts was dispatched. Jan. 22 to South Marr Street for a suspicious person going door-to-door and talking to residents. After checking the area, the person was not found.

On Jan. 23, Officer Robert Poindexter responded to a call regarding a woman who’d fallen and broken her arm. He stayed with her until emergency medical personnel arrived.

Officer Combs stopped on Jan. 23 to check on the driver of a broken-down semi. The driver did not need assistance, and there was plenty of room for vehicles to maneuver around the semi.

On Jan. 24, Officer Poindexter provided a courtesy ride to a man who was walking to work.

A person reported on Jan. 24 some neighboring youths were threatening her daughter. Officer Combs advised her to file for an order of protection.

On Jan. 24, Officer Combs took a report of a man shooting a child with a pellet gun. The officer spoke to all involved and the man said he had not shot anyone, and was told to keep his pellet gun indoors.

Assistant Chief Schwien responded to an abandoned vehicle call on Jan. 24, spoke to the business owner and was able to locate the name of the vehicle’s owner. The business owner said they would try to contact the vehicle’s owner to have the truck removed.

On Jan. 24, Officer Poindexter responded to an apartment complex pertaining to a call received in which the reporting party wanted to remain anonymous, but said there had been multiple domestic disturbances in the past. When the officer arrived, he found a woman walking to a vehicle and asked if she knew which apartment the domestic disturbance was located, but the woman said there was nothing going on.

Chief Jamie Perkins was dispatched Jan. 25 to a traffic crash involving a red truck in the ditch and partially still in the road. He made contact with the driver and assisted in removing the vehicle from the road.

On Jan. 25, a person called to report her neighbor was suicidal and she needed help calming the neighbor down. Assistant Chief Schwien responded and found the subject to be intoxicated. Emergency medical personnel responded and stayed with her.

Officer McGee asset a woman in picking up tools that had fallen out of her car on Jan. 25.

On Jan. 25, Officer Poindexter encountered a vehicle parked westbound on a road with no lights or reflective cones. As he noticed the vehicle was empty, its owner arrived and said the vehicle had broken down; she was advised it had to be removed from the road or else it would be towed.

Officer Kaleb Berkshire spoke to a woman driving a Ford Escape that was not registered. She said she had just purchased the car, and the registration had been sent off.
