Coral Counts, 30, Mtn. View, was ticketed at 8:52 a.m. April 13 on a charge of having a dog at large. Officer First Class Kylie McGee.

Danielle Webb, 39, West Plains, was ticketed at 11:34 a.m. April 13 on charges of careless and imprudent driving and failure to obey a stop sign. Sgt. Kaleb Berkshire.

Lucas Langston, 19, Mtn. View, was ticketed at 12:16 p.m. April 13 on a charge of failure to register a vehicle.

William Stoops, 33, Mtn. View, was ticketed at 7 p.m. April 13 on a charge of failure to register a vehicle.

James Goodwin, 57, Mtn. View, was ticketed at 8:29 p.m. April 13 on a charge of failure to use a turn signal. Officer Alexis Johnson.

Frank Powell, 39, Birch Tree, was ticketed at 9:03 p.m. April 13 on a charge of failure to display state plates.

Jamie Smith, 43, Birch Tree, was ticketed at 9:38 p.m. April 13 on a charge of failure to use a turn signal.

Bobby Brooks, 35, Willow Springs, was ticketed at 10:50 p.m. April 13 on a charge of failure to obey a stop sign. Cpl. Israel Guidry.

Jordan Noble, 22, St. Louis, was ticketed at 11:06 p.m. April 13 on a charge of speeding by 11-15 mph over. Officer Matthew Combs.

Lukas Maybrier, 21, Somerset, Ky., was ticketed at 8:16 p.m. April 14 on a charge of speeding by 11-15 mph over. Officer Combs.

Herminda Madera Mendoza, 48, Yukon, Okla., was ticketed at 8:39 p.m. April 15 on a charge of failure to obey a stop sign. Officer Combs

Jacob Sherman, 21, Birch Tree, was ticketed at 8:24 p.m. Thursday on a charge of failure to obey a stop sign.

Herminia Madera Mendoza, 48, Yukon, was ticketed at 8:39 p.m. Thursday on a charge of failure to yield right of way.

CALLS FOR SERVICE

Cpl. Guidry while conducting business checks on April 12 found an open door and contacted the owner, who does not live near the business.

On April 12, Assistant Chief Stetson Schwien followed up on a report of an abandoned vehicle in the Apple Market parking lot. Police contacted the owner, who would work to remove the vehicle before the 96-hour notice expires.

Officer Johnson stopped a vehicle on April 12, resulting in a ticket being issued on a charge of driving without a valid license.

On April 12, Sgt. Berkshire responded to an assault in progress, involving a married couple and a friend, with two children present. The younger of the two children called to report the incident, and the adults said they hadn’t wanted the police called but the kids did. The adults were given a 12-hour warning if police had to return for a call about a domestic assault.

Sgt. Berkshire stopped a vehicle on April 13 on for a report of careless and imprudent driving and failure to stop at a stop sign. The reporting party alleged the driver had almost hit five cars and was driving at speeds varying from 20 to 50 mph.

A man reported on April 13 that his ex-wife was following him, but was unable to give proof or identify her vehicle. He said she lives outside of Mtn. View. Officer First Class McGee gave him information about getting a restraining order if needed.

On April 13, Officer First Class McGee spoke to someone who reported a sick raccoon running down the street and hiding in a drainage ditch. She advise the reporting party what the illness could be and said to call again if the animal returns.

Sgt. Berkshire spoke on April 13 with the seller of a motorcycle regarding a traffic stop, and she said she had sold it months ago; the driver had been in possession of the vehicle for between two and three months. The person operating the motorcycle did not have a motorcycle endorsement.

On April 13, Assistant Chief Schwien issued a ticket during a traffic stop for expired plates.

Officer Johnson stopped a motorcycle on April 13, which came back as stolen. A man was taken into custody and the motorcycle was impounded. The driver was ticketed.

Officer First Class McGee received a report from 911 on April 14 of a black two-door Maza with no plates, the occupant of which had taken items, left the residence, and headed toward Mtn. View, and was possibly on the way to West Plains. No matching vehicle was found in city limits.

On April 14, Officer First Class delivered a nuisance violation notice to the owner of a home on East Second Street.

Officer First Class McGee received a report on April 15 of a gray Chevrolet truck driving erratically. The area was searched and no matching vehicle was found.

On April 15, Officer First Class McGee received a call about a suspicious person and a young child, in which the caller believed they witnessed a kidnapping at Signal gas station. The officer made spoke to the reporting party and staff at Signal; the reporting party said a man was walking out of the store holding the hand of a small boy, helped him into the back seat of the truck and help buckle him in. After reviewing camera footage, McGee said she saw nothing amiss and believed it was “just a father being a good father.” The reporting party was not local and was passing through. The Missouri State Highway Patrol and 911 were informed of the officer’s findings.

Officer First Class McGee responded to a business alarm on Tuesday and found a bird inside of an office. The key holder was contacted and the bird was able to leave the building.

On Tuesday, a man went to police to let them know he would be placing a hotline call on another man for child abuse and wanted officers to be aware. Officer First Class McGee passed the information along to the Howell County Sheriff’s Office, as that agency has the jurisdiction.

Officer First Class McGee conducted a well-being check on a 52-year-old man, who was having a hard time breathing and was vomiting. She stabilized him until emergency medical personnel came and took him for medical treatment.

On Tuesday, Officer First Class McGee took a call regarding a German Shepherd and brown pit bull killing a goat and trying to kill other animals. After searching the area, she was not able to find the animals.

Cpl. Guidry responded on Tuesday to a park for a fallen flag pole. He tried to fix it but could not get the pole to stay upright, so he took the flag down and laid the pole on the ground to be fixed by the Parks Department.

On Tuesday, Cpl. Guidry spoke to a business manager about a grease bucket on the side of the building overflowing. The manager assured it would be taken care of.

Assistant Chief Schwien left six warning notices on Wednesday for nuisance violations.

On Wednesday, Mercy St. Francis Hospital emergency room staff called to report a possible assault. Cpl. Guidry took the call. It was reported a man was drunk in the ER, saying he was protecting his wife, but she said they were in an argument and she told him to leave. As he left, he reportedly punched the door. The ER did an X-ray of the man’s hand.

Cpl. Guidry spoke to a man on Wednesday who said his wife and her friend had a falling out, and the former friend had been sending text messages since. The officer advised them both to block the number, and if the contact continued, report it to the police.

On Wednesday, a woman called concerned about her brother, who reportedly had mental health issues and had recently left his uncle’s home, where he had been staying, and had not returned. She asked police to notify her if her brother was found.

Assistant Chief Schwien left a warning for a nuisance violation at a property on Thursday.

On Thursday, Assistant Chief Schwien received a call about a man lying in the road. He contacted the man, and he was intoxicated. An ambulance was called to take him for treatment.
