Below are several upcoming events at Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP), many of which are open to the community. Feel free to clip this calendar and keep it for your reference to make sure you don’t miss any events that might interest you. Also listed are several important dates on the university’s calendar that area residents might want to keep in mind. 

Current – Regular registration for current and readmitted students for 2024 summer session and fall semester classes. First-time freshmen should call the academic advisement center office, 417-255-7222, for orientation information. To see a schedule of classes, visit WP.MissouriState.edu/Schedule.

May 27 – Memorial Day. Offices closed.

May 31 – Senior citizen registration begins for 2024 summer session classes. For more information, visit WP.MissouriState.edu/SeniorCitizenFeeWaiver or call 417-255-7955.

June 3 – 2024 summer session classes begin.

June 11 – “An Oral History of West Plains” presentation by traditional Ozarks storyteller Danette House, 6 p.m., Ozarks Heritage Research Center (OHRC) inside the Garnett Library, 304 W. Trish Knight St., in West Plains. Hosted by the OHRC. Admission free. Light refreshments served.

June 19 – Juneteenth National Independence Day holiday. Classes will not meet; offices closed.

June 20-21 – Missouri State University Board of Governors meetings at the West Plains Civic Center. Committee meetings begin at 1 p.m. June 20 in the Magnolia Room. The full board meeting begins at 9 a.m. June 21 in the Magnolia Room. All meetings are open to the public. For more information visit MissouriState.edu/BOG.
