Posted

The Mtn. View City Council met in a brief special session at about 6 p.m. Aug. 30 to set the city’s property tax levy at zero.

Mayor John Krasuski called the meeting to order at 5: 57 p.m., with all four council members present.

A proposed resolution to authorize the board of aldermen to set the city’s property tax levy to zero for 2023 was read by City Clerk Sara Chowning. With no discussion, the minutes show, a motion made by Alderman Steven Sills was seconded by Alderman Lindell Vandevort and passed without opposition. As such, no property tax will be levied by the city of Mtn. View this year.

The meeting adjourned at 6:01 p.m.

In addition to Chowning, city employees in attendance were Operations Manager Eddie Owens, Police Chief Jamie Perkins and Assistant Chief Stetson Schwien, and videographer Andrew Abbey.
