Ozarks Healthcare’s Mobile Mammography Unit will continue to travel and offer mammogram services to surrounding communities through December. 

In the spirit of the holiday season, say officials, it is crucial to emphasize that health should always remain a top priority. Ozarks Healthcare urges individuals not to delay mammograms, even amid the festivities. Early detection is key in the fight against breast cancer, and scheduling a mammogram is a proactive step in safeguarding one's wellbeing. 

Ozarks Healthcare’s state-of-the-art Mobile Mammography Unit is equipped with the latest technology and staffed by expert professionals who are dedicated to patients’ wellbeing. The unit features advanced 3D mammogram screening technology, which delivers more complex and detailed images.

SCHEDULE

The Mobile Mammography Unit will start its tour from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday at Missouri Highlands Health Care, 405 Main St. in Van Burenr. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, it will be located at Ozarks Healthcare Winona, 9104 Highway 19, and then from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, it will be at the OZH clinic located at 500 E. 19th St. in Mtn. Grove.

Stops next week include one from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at OZH’s Alton Clinic, 100 Medical Drive; from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 13 at Ozarks Healthcare’s Gainesville Pharmacy, 512 Third St.; and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. 14 at Ozarks Healthcare Mtn. View, 220 N. Elm St.

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 19 it will be at Ozarks Healthcare Thayer, 1375 Nettleton Ave.; from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 20, at Missouri Highlands Health Care, 2879 James Boulevard in Poplar Bluff; and then from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 21, at Fordland Clinic, 1059 Barton Drive.

In its final week, the unit will travel to Mtn. View, where it will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 26 at West Plains Bank and Trust Company Liberty Branch, 607 N. Elm St., then to Houston, where it will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 27 at the same bank’s Houston Branch, 1473 Sam Houston Blvd. It will conclude the month’s stops with a return to Thayer, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Hirsch Feed & Farm Supply, 660 Nettleton Ave.

For added convenience, patients can schedule a mammogram to take place at a location from this schedule ahead of time by calling 417-257-5912. Appointments are available but limited, so those seeking to make an appointment are urged secure a spot in advance.

Patients wishing to have mammograms conducted through Ozarks Healthcare’s Mobile Mammography Unit must be female and 40 years or older; have had no mammograms in the past year; not be pregnant or breastfeeding; have no implants or breast issues such as breast discharge, lumps, pain or discoloration; and not have ever been diagnosed with breast cancer.
