“This sweetheart is Junebug,” says Trish Hammen, a volunteer at the West Plains Regional Animal Shelter. “She is the most loving cat at the shelter. Junebug is spayed and up-to-date on shots. She would like to be in a home where she can sleep on your lap, bed or window sill.” Hammen says she is not sure how old the cat is, but guesses between 1 and 3 years. The fee to adopt is $45. Hammen says funding continues to be needed to finish the inside of the new shelter building. “The cost of materials has gone up and it is going to take more money than we figured in the beginning,” she explains. As a reminder, the shelter is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and donations are tax deductible. Anyone interested in contributing is invited to call the shelter, 417-256-8438, and ask for Trish. For more information about adopting, donating or volunteering, call or drop by the shelter at 1486 BB Highway between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays.
