West Plains Elementary School students were treated to a visit from a rare life-sized Elf on a Shelf Friday morning. The elf, who looked startlingly familiar and could easily be mistaken for Principal Becky Hutchinson, could be seen waving from atop the school building before settling down to perch on a library shelf where she could keep a watchful eye on the students, said school officials.
