Former employees of Regal-Beloit, previously Marathon Electric, are organizing a reunion of workers to be held at 1 p.m. Sept. 16 at People’s Park on Broadway in West Plains.
“Let’s see how many past employees we can get together,” encourage organizers.
Regal-Beloit opened its doors as Marathon in 1976 and operated at 1000 Lanton Road, in the building that now houses Arlee Home & Pet, until 2020. Many of its employees worked there for decades; the company in 2015 celebrated more than 50 who had worked there for over 30 years, and two who had been there since the plant’s first day of operation.
Attendees to the reunion are asked to bring a potluck dish to share, and to spread the word of the event.
