Posted

Lana Snodgras, director of communications for West Plains R-7 School District, has been recognized with a state public relations award by the Missouri School Public Relations Association (MOSPRA).

The recognition, dubbed by MOSPRA as the Zubeck Spirit Award, not only celebrates her contributions to the field of school PR but also acknowledges her mentorship. Specifically, according to the association, recipients of the award show an “ongoing desire to help colleagues find their own personal success and be a positive voice for publication” through mentorship, specific acts to help their districts’ students and beyond and working with others in the association to promote communications and public relations.

With a tenure of 15 years as the director of communications for West Plains R-7, Snodgras has been at the forefront of shaping communications and marketing initiatives. The accolade reflects Snodgras’ achievements and underscores the West Plains School District's commitment to excellence in communications, said officials.

“Her dedication and expertise have earned her the reputation of a seasoned professional in school PR,” said officials. “Known for her generosity in sharing knowledge and time, Lana has been actively involved in mentoring her peers. Throughout her career, Lana has demonstrated outstanding leadership within MOSPRA, having served as its president. She has played a pivotal role in guiding numerous members and assisting districts across the state in enhancing their own communication strategies.”

The recognition took place at the awards banquet during the MOSPRA Spring Conference, held March 20 at Lake Ozark.
