A Texas County man perished in a crash Saturday evening near Salem, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Tpr. J.R. Summers, Troop I of the patrol, Rolla, reported Robert L. Clark, 57, of Licking, was the driver of a 2006 Cadillac Escalade that was heading south at 9 p.m. on HH Highway about a mile and a half south of Salem in Dent County. The SUV reportedly traveled off the right side of the road, where it struck a culvert and a tree.
Dent County Coroner Ben Persifull pronounced Clark dead at 9:45 p.m. at the scene.
Summers was assisted at the scene by the Dent County Sheriff’s Office.
Persifull’s death is the first traffic fatality recorded in the month of September for the six-county Troop I area, and the 20th for 2023.
