The Shannon County Museum, Ozarks Historical Preservation and Ozarks Riverways Foundation are partnering to host a historical program Friday evening to kick off the Ozark Mountain Festival in Eminence.

The free program, “History of Tie Rafting on Current River” will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Shannon County Museum, and will include stories of tie rafting, music from The Taylor Family and concessions from Renee’s Lemonade Stand, offering cookies and popcorn.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to see new displays at the museum, 118 Main St. Eminence.

The festival, hosted by the Eminence Area Chamber of Commerce, begins Friday evening and continues Saturday with booths, food trucks, a petting zoo, children’s activities, a car show, chamber of commerce auction, a dunking booth, a side-by-side poker run, the coronation of Miss Eminence, a lawnmower race, a car stool, live music and a homemade pie auction. Sunday will conclude the festival with a community church service in the Eminence High School gymnasium.
