Posted

A West Plains man suffered serious injuries when thrown from his vehicle at 9:50 a.m. Wednesday on Z Highway, 7 miles south of Houston in Texas County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Dylan L. Scaggs, 22, was driving a northbound 2002 International 4700 that was towing a trailer when part of the trailer ran off the right side of the road, reported Tpr. Z.B. Tate, Troop G of the patrol, Willow Springs.

The trailer’s departure from the road caused Scaggs to lose control of his truck, which crossed the center line before the trailer came loose and overturned in the road, the report shows. The truck then ran off the right side of the road and began overturning before it struck a fence, Tate added.

Scaggs was not wearing a seat belt, and was taken to Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, the report shows.

Tate was assisted at the scene by Cpl. J.R. Sellars.

David B. Williams, 55, Cabool, suffered moderate injuries in a crash at 10:28 a.m. Tuesday on Highway 181 in Douglas County, 8 miles south of Cabool.

Msgt. C.A. Hogue reported a southbound 2006 International 7600 driven by Williams ran off the road and struck four trees.

Williams was wearing a seat belt, and was flown by Air Evac to Cox South Medical Center South for treatment, the report shows.
