Webster County woman killed, West Plains teen injured in Thursday crash

A Webster County woman died as a result of injuries suffered in a two-vehicle crash which injured a West Plains teenager at 11:37 a.m. Thursday on U.S. 60 a half mile west of Diggins in Webster County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Tpr. J.W. Philpott with Troop D of the patrol, Springfield, reported Judy K. Hill, 71, of Seymour, was westbound in a 1999 Lincoln Town Car when her vehicle pulled into the path of a southbound 2012 Dodge Avenger.
The Dodge was driven by a 17-year-old male from West Plains.
The report shows Hill was pronounced dead at the scene by Webster County Deputy Coroner Robby Jernigan at 12:35 p.m.
Moderate injuries were reported for the West Plains teenager and he was taken by ambulance to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield.

Both drivers were not wearing seat belts, according to the patrol.
The surviving driver was tested for alcohol as required by law.
Tpr. Philpott was assisted at the scene by Sgt. B.C. Gruben of Major Crash Investigation Team 3 and Tpr. A.M. James.
Hill’s death marks the 47th traffic-related fatality in the 17 county Troop D area for 2021, compared to 44 during the same time frame last year.
The patrol does not release the names of people younger than 18 years of age.
