ARRESTS

James Thomas Asbury, 25, was arrested Jan. 1 on second-degree charges of domestic assault and child endangerment and released the same day without bond. Officer Jesse Martin.

Joseph D. Vance, 42, was arrested Jan. 1 on a warrant for failure to appear and released the same day on $200 bond. Officer Austin Deshazo.

Mackenzie Renee Gardner, 21, was arrested Jan. 1 on a charge of speeding by 26 to 30 mph over and released the same day on $400 bond. Cpl. Thomas Manning.

Joseph David Grant III, 25, was arrested Jan. 1 on two counts of a charge of failure to maintain financial responsibility and a warrant for failure to appear. He was released the same day on $700 bond. Officer Robert Shell.

Joshua Allan Brown, 49, was arrested Jan. 2 on charges of delivery of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon by possessing a weapon and felony controlled substance. He was released the following day without bond.

Anthony Edward Burrow, 64, was arrested Jan. 2 on a charge of trespassing and released the same day without bond. Officer Whitley Clark.

Abigail Elizabeth Hardman, 20, was arrested Jan. 2 on a warrant for failure to appear and released the next day without bond. Officer Brent Keepes.

Eric Elton Childers, 62, was arrested Saturday on a warrant for failure to appear and held without bond. Officer Deshazo.

Keirsten Paige Little, 25, was arrested Sunday on a warrant for failure to appear and released the same day on $225 cash-only bond.

Trenton Dale Combs, 19, was arrested Sunday on Willow Springs charges of failure to provide proof of financial responsibility and driving a vehicle without a license, plus a warrant for failure to appear. He was released the following day on $200 bond.

Kayla M. Groves, 36, was arrested Sunday on a seat belt violation charge and released the same day on $100 bond. Officer Jerry Mingus.

Noah Gene Marshell, 19, was arrested Sunday on a warrant for failure to appear and released the same day on $200 bond. Officer Mingus.

Chris E. Yarbrough, 64, was arrested Sunday on a charge of speeding by 16-19 mph over and released the same day without bond. Cpl. Manning.

Rodney Otis Collins, 40, was arrested Sunday on two warrants for failure to appear and held on $243 cash-only bond.

INCIDENT REPORTS

At 12:35 a.m. Jan. 1, Officer Martin was dispatched to the 400 block of West Olden Street for a domestic assault in progress. He determined an assault had happened and an arrest was made. Charges are being filed.

Officers investigated an assault call at 2:43 a.m. Jan. 1 on Harlin Drive. A report was taken and it will be sent to the county prosecutor’s office for formal charges. Officer Edward Heuchelin.

At 9:34 a.m. Jan. 1, officers were dispatched to a home on Shuttee Street for a possible domestic disturbance. It was learned two male relatives who lived together had gotten not an argument. No charges are pending and the case is closed.

While on general patrol at 1:18 p.m. Jan. 1 on the 1100 block of East Main Street, Officer Deshazo saw a man known to him to have a municipal warrant out for his arrest enter a business. The man was arrested on the warrant and taken to the city jail.

At 3:03 p.m. Jan. 1, officers stopped a vehicle on Cass Street for a minor violation. The driver was found to be wanted on an active arrest warrant and taken into custody. She later bonded out at the city jail. Cpl. Manning.

Officers were near the 200 block of South Thayer Avenue at 5:33 p.m. Jan. 1 to serve an arrest warrant. A man was taken into custody, booked at the jail and later released after posting bond. Officer Shell.

At 10:42 p.m. Jan. 1, officers were near First Street and conducted a traffic stop that resulted in the arrest of a man. He was taken to the city jail for booking and fingerprinting and later released with a court summons. Officer Shell.

Officer Daiman Meyer was dispatched at 5:33 a.m. Jan. 2 to a business on the 3000 block of Porter Wagoner for an alarm call. The business was cleared with no one inside.

At 10:29 a.m. Jan. 2, Officer Jacob Miller was dispatched to the 1100 block of Lanton Road for an assault. The case is closed due to an uncooperative victim.

Officer Ivie Powell conducted a traffic stop at 12:02 p.m. Jan. 2 on U.S. 63 for a vehicle displaying expired tags. It was found the driver did not have insurance on the vehicle. The vehicle was towed and the driver ticketed.

At 1:04 p.m. Jan. 2, officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of St. Louis Street for a report of trespassing. It was reported three people entered an abandoned home. Three youths were found and the case will be sent to the juvenile office. Officer Conner Burnes.

Officers were on patrol at 5:26 p.m. Jan. 2 near Summit Street and stopped a vehicle. A man was arrested and taken to the city jail for fingerprinting and booking, and placed on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges for “a multitude of” felony narcotic and weapons charges. Officer Shell.

At 5:30 p.m. Jan. 2, officers took a report at West Plains High School of a man trespassing on the property. The man was arrested, taken to the police department for booking and released with a court summons. The case is closed pending formal charges. Officer Clark.

Officers responded at 6:11 p.m. Jan. 2 to the police station to speak with someone who wanted to report an assault. An investigation was conducted and the case is considered closed. Cpl. Manning.

At 8:22 p.m. Jan. 2, officers stopped a vehicle on Third Street with expired registration. The stop resulted in the arrest of both the driver and the passenger after a consent search lead to the discovery of drugs in the vehicle. Cpl. Manning.

Officers were dispatched at 11:27 p.m. Jan. 2 to a disturbance in the area of Hubert Redburn Drive. The call indicated a domestic incident between a man and woman, and investigation and interviews led officers to confirm the report. The woman was taken into custody on an active warrant. No charges are being sought for the domestic disturbance due to an uncooperative victim. Officer Keepes.

At 2:43 a.m. Jan. 3, Officer Meyer was dispatched to the 200 block of Leyda Street for a report of a runaway youth. The youth was found and returned home. The case was referred to the Juvenile Office for review.

Officers responded at 4:56 a.m. Jan. 30 to a disturbance on the 800 block of East Main Street and, while on scene, contacted a man involved who was wanted on an active arrest warrant. The man was later arrested and taken to the county jail. Sgt. Josh Wichowski.

At 9:37 a.m. Jan. 3, officers were dispatched to West Plains High School for a youth who reportedly ran away from the school and was suspected of having marijuana. The youth was found with no marijuana. The case is under investigation. School Resource Officer Burnes.

Officers initiated a traffic stop at 9:04 p.m. Jan. 3 on a black Dodge pickup truck pulling a white minivan on a trailer that had no registration. The stop was made on Luna Drive and resulted in the arrest of the driver on a charge of driving while intoxicated. Officer Keepes.

At 10:34 p.m. Jan. 3, officers stopped a vehicle with an equipment violation. The driver was released with a warning pending formal charges after a search of the vehicle revealed drug paraphernalia. Cpl. Manning.

Animal Control Officer Brad Jones spoke at 12:30 p.m. Jan. 4 to a 46-year-old woman who reported that on several occasions, her neighbor’s dogs barked excessively at all times of day and night, and she wished to sign a complaint. The dogs’ owner was contacted and issued a complaint for peace disturbance.

At 5:38 p.m. Jan. 4, Officer Meyer was at the civic center and located a person wanted on an active arrest warrant. The person was arrested and taken to the city jail to be booked and processed, and was able to post bond to be released.

Officer Heuchelin spoke with a woman at 12:15 a.m. Jan. 5 who was needing help with her mental health. She was taken to Ozarks Healthcare to speak with a doctor.

At 8:26 a.m. Jan. 5, West Plains police served a narcotics-related search warrant at a home on the 500 block of Harlin Drive. Suspected methamphetamine and paraphernalia relating to the distribution of illegal drugs were reportedly found, as well as an illegal firearm. Three people were arrested pending charges of delivery and possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers were dispatched at 10:31 a.m. to a business on the 1600 block of Porter Wagoner Boulevard for a two-vehicle crash in which one of the vehicles left the scene. Officer Chris Barrett spoke with a man who said another vehicle had struck his parked vehicle and left.

At 10:40 a.m. Jan. 5, Officer Miller was dispatched to the 3600 block of North U.S. 63 for a report of stealing. The victim did not want to pursue charges and the case is closed.

Officers were dispatched at 3:21 p.m. Jan. 5 to the 1400 block of Webster Avenue for an assault. A probable cause statement was sent to the city prosecutor’s office. Officer Nathaniel Siegrist.

At 7:26 p.m. Jan. 5, officers were dispatched to the Dollar General on Bill Virdon Boulevard for complaint of stealing. Suspects were identified and the case remains open. Officer Siegrist.

Officer Meyer conducted a traffic stop at 1:28 a.m. Saturday on Fourth Street. The driver was found to be intoxicated, and was arrested and taken tot he city jail to be booked and released with tickets.

At 3:18 a.m. Saturday, Officer Meyer located a person wanted on active arrest warrants on the 400 block of Broadway. The person was arrested and taken to the city jail.

Cpl. Brent McKemie completed a report at 10;34 a.m. Saturday regarding a tree falling on a power line on Hynes Street.

At 1:05 p.m. Saturday, a shoplifting report was taken from a business in Southern Hills Shopping Center for an incident that occurred Nov. 28. Suspects have been identified and charges forwarded to the prosecutor’s office. Cpl. Stephens.

While on general patrol at 1:37 p.m. Saturday, Officer Deshazo saw a man he knew to have active municipal warrants out for his arrest sitting on the sidewalk on the 1500 block of Preacher Roe Boulevard. The man was arrested and taken to the city jail.

At 2:47 p.m. Saturday, officers were dispatched to the 500 block of East Maple for a suicidal person, who was taken to Ozarks Healthcare. An affidavit was completed. Officer Siegrist.

While on routine patrol at 11:47 p.m. Saturday, Sgt. Wichowski conducted a traffic stop on the 400 block of Porter Wagoner for an equipment violation. The driver was found to have a suspended license and was ticketed and released to await a licensed driver. Formal charges will be pending through the city court.

At 4:05 a.m. Sunday, Officer Meyer was dispatched to Kentucky Avenue to assist another agency. A man was taken to Ozarks Healthcare.

Officers arrested a woman on active city warrants at 9:21 a.m. Sunday. Officer Deshazo.

At 10:53 a.m. Sunday, Cpl. Stephens stopped a vehicle on Highway 17, resulting in the arrest of the driver on a charge of driving without a license and a Willow Springs warrant for failure to appear. The driver was taken to the city jail, where he was ticketed, fingerprinted and released after posting bond.

A business on Imperial Drive reported at 11:08 a.m. Sunday a person had been stealing from the organization. A report was taken and will be sent to the detective division for further investigation. Officer Deshazo.

At 2:58 p.m. Sunday, officers stopped a vehicle on the 1200 block of Porter Wagoner Boulevard. The driver was found to have an expired license and arrested and taken to the city jail to be booked and released with a ticket. Cpl. Manning.

A person was arrested on a warrant at 3:39 p.m. Sunday on the 800 block of Westmont Drive. Officer Mingus.

At 4:33 p.m. Sunday, officers spoke to a man regarding city warrants at the police station. The man was later arrested and booked. Officer Mingus.

Officers arrested a man on active city warrants at 5:01 p.m. Sunday on the 1000 block of Third Street. Cpl. Manning.

At 5:44 p.m. Sunday, officers were dispatched the 1300 block of Preacher Roe Boulevard for a call of stealing. A report was taken and charges will be forwarded to county prosecutors. Officer Shell.

Officers arrested a woman on active city warrants at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the police station. Cpl. Manning.

At 6:42 p.m. Sunday, officers received a possible illicit substance from individuals that was placed into evidence for further investigation. Officer Brixey.

Officers were dispatched at 7:15 p.m. Sunday to a peace disturbance near the 500 block of Summit Street. A report was taken. Officer Shell.

At 7:51 p.m. Sunday, Officer Brixey stopped a vehicle and Harlin and Cynthia Drives. Suspected drugs were found in the vehicle and sent to the Missouri State Highway Patrol lab for testing. The case is open pending results.
