ARRESTS

Thomasina Nichole Shaw, 38, was arrested Feb. 19 on charges of careless and reckless driving, disorderly conduct, interfering with arrest and resisting arrest. She was released the same day without bond. Officer Austin Deshazo.

Wesley James Floyd Hanger, 23, was arrested Feb. 19 on a warrant for failure to appear and released the same day on $1,000 bond. Officer Robert Shell.

Dillon Needle Stokes, 26, was arrested Feb. 20 on charges of failure to obey a lawful order and resisting arrest, two counts. He was released Feb. 23 on $2,121 bond, $621 of which was cash-only. Officer Shell.

Kelley Dave Tyler, 35, was arrested Feb. 20 on charges of disorderly conduct, failure to obey a lawful order and resisting arrest. He was released the following day on $3,500 bond. Officer Brent Keepes.

Scott Massey Haylun, 24, was arrested Feb. 20 on a warrant for failure to appear and released the same day on $400 bond. Officer Shell.

Christopher Allen Cameron, 27, was arrested Feb. 21 on a charge of trespassing and released the same day on $700 bond. Officer Deshazo.

Dustin Lee McReynolds, 34, was arrested Feb. 21 on a charge of stealing and held on $476.50 cash-only bond. Officer Jacob Beadell.

Raymond Erwin Bowers, 63, was arrested Feb. 21 on a charge of fourth-degree domestic assault and released the following day without bond. Officer Keepes.

Everett Lamplugh, 38, was arrested Feb. 22 on a charge of possession of a controlled substance and released the same day without bond. Officer Ivie Powell.

Christopher Allen Wright, 41, was arrested Feb. 22 on a charge of delivery of a controlled substance to a minor youth and released the same day without bond. Cpl. Brent McKemie.

Christopher Richardson, 35, was arrested Feb. 22 on a charge of possession of a controlled substance and released the same day without bond. Officer Daiman Meyer.

Brittany Nicole Long, 31, was arrested Feb. 22 on a charge of possession of a controlled substance and released the same day without bond. Officer Meyer.

John Wesley Anderson, Jr., 59, was arrested Feb. 22 on a charge of driving on a highway without a valid license and released the same day without bond. Officer Powell.

Terry Glen Craig, 59, was arrested Feb. 23 on a charge of unlawful use of weapon by possessing a weapon and felony controlled substance. He was released the same day without bond. Cpl. Brandon Stephens.

James Alan Nichols, 32, was arrested Feb. 23 on two warrants for failure to appear and released the same day on $243 cash-only bond. Cpl. Thomas Manning.

Ryan Clark Hall, 29, was arrested Saturday on a warrant for failure to appear and held without bond. Officer Deshazo.

Justin Edward Fletcher, 40, was arrested Saturday on a warrant for failure to appear and released Tuesday on $263.50 cash-only bond. Officer Beadell.

Adam Garrett Smith, 26, was arrested Saturday on a charge of not having a required license and released the same day without bond. Officer Shell.

Linsey Marie Brege, 25, was arrested Sunday on a charge of not having a required license and released the same day without bond. Officer Deshazo.

INCIDENT REPORTS

At 8:37 a.m. Feb. 19, Officer Powell spoke with a person reporting a stolen vehicle, who said a man had rented the vehicle and failed to return it as indicated on the agreement. The vehicle was entered into the law enforcement database as stolen and a probable cause statement will be completed and sent to the county prosecutor’s office.

Officers stopped a vehicle at 10:54 a.m. Feb. 9 on the 700 block of Kentucky Avenue, resulting in the arrest of the driver on a charge of careless and reckless driving. She was taken to the city jail to be booked and released with tickets. The case was sent to the municipal courts for review. Officer Deshazo.

At 1:52 p.m. Feb. 19, Cpl. Manning served a Mtn. View arrest warrant on the 500 block of Porter Wagoner Boulevard, resulting in a man’s arrest.

Cpl. Manning saw a silver SUV turn without signaling at 6:50 p.m. Feb. 19 at the intersection of Porter Wagoner Boulevard and West Main Street. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was arrested on a charge of driving while suspended, then taken to the police station for fingerprinting and released with a ticket.

At 8:05 p.m. Feb. 19, officers served a failure-to-appear warrant in the area of the 500 block of Grace Avenue, resulting in a man’s arrest. Officer Deshazo.

Officer Jerry Mingus was dispatched at 8:35 p.m. Feb. 19 to Washington Avenue for property damage. A sign pole had been struck by an unknown subject.

At 7:23 a.m. Feb. 20, Officer Deshazo responded to the police station for found property from the 1300 block of Bill Virdon Boulevard, which was placed into an electronic locker to be stored for safekeeping until it can be returned to its owner.

Detective Jeremy Pounders reported at 12:19 p.m. Feb. 20 that, on Feb. 16, he spoke to two board members from Arts on the Avenue, who reported someone they knew had been using Arts on the Avenue money to make purchases for person items and gain. The case is under investigation.

At 2:58 p.m. Feb. 20, officers served a failure-to-appear warrant near the 1000 block of Sixth Street, resulting in the arrest of a man. The man and a woman were also placed on a 24-hour hold after further investigation, pending formal charges. Officer Shell.

Police were contacted at 3:10 p.m. Feb. 20 for a girl possibly stealing from her family. The girl was interviewed and a probable cause statement will be forwarded to the 37th Judicial Circuit Juvenile Division. Officer Jacob Brixey.

At 7:33 p.m. Feb. 20, Cpl. Wes Stuart responded to the 1300 block of Washington Avenue for a call about a domestic disturbance. The parties were separated for the night and the matter is closed.

Cpl. Stuart received a report at 7:58 p.m. Feb. 20 regarding the possible sexual assault of two children. The case is under investigation.

At 9:30 p.m. Feb. 20, officers responded to a home on Renfrow Street to serve a warrant, resulting in a man being taken into custody. He later bonded out. Officer Keepes.

Officers served a failure-to-appear warrant at 9:52 p.m. Feb. 20 near the 1800 block of Lasswell Street, resulting in a man being arrested and taken to the city jail for booking. Officer Shell.

At 8:13 a.m. Feb. 21, Officer Chris Barrett was dispatched to a business on the 700 block of Kentucky Avenue, where an employee reported a man took items from the business without paying. The man was later located and ticketed on a charge of stealing.

Officers were dispatched at 9:50 a.m. Feb. 21 to the 1800 block of Lasswell Street for a report that a child had sent explicit media to an adult. The case is under investigation. Officer Conner Burnes.

At 10:10 a.m. Feb. 21, Officer Deshazo responded to the Howell County Courthouse to arrest a person on an active city warrant. The man was taken to the city jail for booking.

Officer Beadell arrested a man on active arrest warrants at 1:42 p.m. Feb. 21 on Third Street. A search of the arrestee reportedly revealed drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the jail on the warrants and ticketed for the paraphernalia charge.

At 3:50 p.m. Feb. 21, Officer Brixey responded to a report of a hit-and-run at the intersection of North Howell Avenue and Broadway. A report was taken and the case is open, pending further investigation.

Officer Keepes responded at 4:22 p.m. Feb. 21 to the police station to speak with a man reporting a theft. It was learned an outside grill was taken from the man’s home on the 1000 block of Third Street. A report was completed.

At 5:56 p.m. Feb. 21, officers responded to a home on Burgoyne Street for a physical altercation that had taken place between a man and woman who live together. The man was taken into custody pending formal charges. Officer Keepes.

Cpl. Stuart responded at 6:15 p.m. Feb. 21 to Preacher Roe Boulevard and Worley Drive for a traffic crash in which one of the drivers was found to have a suspended license. The driver was arrested and taken to the police department to be fingerprinted, then issued tickets on charges of failure to turn as directed by a traffic signal and not having a required license. The driver was released after being ticketed.

At 7 p.m. Feb. 21, Officer Brixey received a possibly-illicit substance from a person on the 300 block of Maple Street, which was placed into evidence for destruction.

Sgt. Josh Wichowski was patrolling at 1:27 a.m. Feb. 22 in the area of Broadway and stopped a silver passenger van for an equipment violation on Trish Knight Street. The driver was found to have a suspended license, ticketed on scene and released with a licensed driver who took over the vehicle’s operation. Formal charges will be pending through the city courts.

At 6:55 a.m. Feb. 22, police served a drug-related search warrant on the 300 block of Maple Street, resulting in the seizure of paraphernalia related to the distribution of illegal drugs, suspected methamphetamine and other illegal controlled substances, along with money believed to be the product of drug sales. Four people were arrested on charges of delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and keeping or maintaining a public nuisance.

Officer Powell initiated a traffic stop at 9:30 a.m. Feb. 22 on Preacher Roe Boulevard with a silver Chrysler passenger car displaying license plates belonging to a truck. The driver was found not to have a valid license and could not show valid proof of financial responsibility, and was arrested on scene, ticketed, booked and fingerprinted at the city jail, then released.

At 2:10 p.m. Feb. 22, Cpl. McKemie stopped a vehicle for a stop sign violation on St. Louis Street. A K-9 was deployed and alerted to the possible presence of drugs. A search resulted in the discovery of drug paraphernalia, and the driver was arrested, taken to jail, processed, ticketed and released.

Officers were dispatched at 2:25 p.m. Feb. 22 to West Plains High School for a student reported to be truant. The case will be sent to the Juvenile Division.

At 4:52 p.m. Feb. 22, Sgt. Colter Reid responded to 10Box grocery story on Kentucky Avenue for a stealing complaint. A youth was identified as a suspect and the case was sent to the Juvenile Office.

Sgt. Reid responded at 5:24 p.m. Feb. 22 to a traffic crash at the intersection of K Highway and U.S. 63/Jan Howard Expressway. One of the drivers was found not to have a valid license and was ticketed.

At 8:02 p.m. Feb. 22, Officer Brixey was dispatched to a home on the 800 block of Lanton Road for a report of a domestic assault. South Howell Ambulance personnel treated a woman on scene. A report was taken and a suspect was identified, but fled before law enforcement arrived. A probable cause statement will be sent to the county prosecutor’s office.

Sgt. Wichowski spoke to a woman at 12:12 a.m. Feb. 23 in the area of Allen Street who had reportedly been involved in a domestic altercation. A report was completed for documentation.

At 3:38 a.m. Feb. 23, Cpl. Stuart was conducting business checks and found an unsecured door at a business on the 1000 block of Preacher Roe Boulevard. No signs of foul play were found and the building was secured.

Sgt. Wichowski responded at 6:26 a.m. Feb. 23 to a home on the 400 block of Olden Street for a structure fire. Investigation appeared to suggest the fire could have been potentially intentionally set. A report was completed and the case is active and open.

At 12:24 p.m. Feb. 23, Officer Barrett was dispatched to the police station to speak to someone about suspicious circumstances that happened Jan. 4 on the 1300 block of Lanton Road. He spoke to a woman who said that at about 3 a.m. Jan. 4 she noticed the furnace in her home stopped working, and that the repair shop she’d consulted told her the gas to her heater was turned off.

Officer Jacob Miller was dispatched at 1:14 p.m. Feb. 23 to the 2100 block of Hubert Redburn drive for a disturbance in progress. A man was arrested and placed on a 24-hour hold, pending formal charges. The case is being forwarded to the county prosecutor’s office.

At 1:57 p.m. Feb. 23, officers responded to the 1100 block of Lincoln Avenue for a report of an argument at a home. A report was taken for documentation. Officer Keepes.

Officer Beadell reported at 2:44 p.m. Feb. 23 that, at 1:14 p.m., he had completed an investigation into the fraudulent use of a credit card and charges are sought against the suspect in the case.

At 3:12 p.m. Feb. 23, officers served an arrest warrant on the 2000 block of Debra Drive, resulting in the arrest of a man, who later bonded out. Cpl. Manning.

Officer Keepes was on patrol at 4:45 p.m. Feb. 23 in the area of Olden Street and saw a man he knew to be wanted on an arrest warrant. The man was taken into custody.

At 4:54 p.m. Feb. 23, officers stopped a vehicle on Howell Avenue and found the driver to have an expired license. The driver was arrested, taken to the city jail for fingerprinting, then released with a ticket. Cpl. Manning.

Officers responded at 6 p.m. Feb. 23 to the 400 block of Johnson Street for a court-order violation. A probable cause statement was sent to the county prosecutor’s office. Sgt. Reid.

At 9 p.m. Feb. 23, Officer Keepes was dispatched to Casey’s General Store on Broadway for a shoplifting incident. A suspect was identified and charges are sought.

Officer Deshazo responded at 9:09 a.m. Saturday to the Howell County Sheriff’s Office for a person with a warrant, who was arrested and taken to the city jail.

At 11:17 a.m. Saturday, Officer Miller was dispatched to the 1700 block of Porter Wagoner Boulevard for a stealing complaint. The case will be sent to the prosecutor’s office.

Officer Beadell responded at 1:32 p.m. Saturday to the 400 block of Johnson Street, where a man was arrested on a warrant, then taken to the city jail.

At 3:50 p.m. Saturday, officers on patrol in the area of U.S. 63 and Porter Wagoner Boulevard stopped a vehicle, resulting in the arrest of a man on a charge of not having a required license. The driver was taken to the city jail for fingerprinting and booking, then released with a ticket. Officer Shell.

Officers were dispatched at 7:22 p.m. Saturday to the police station for a woman who wanted to turn herself in on a warrant. She was arrested and taken to the city jail.

At 3:35 a.m. Sunday, Officer Jesse Martin was conducting an after-hours park check at JMB Park on BB Highway and saw a vehicle in the northernmost turnaround area. He was given consent to search the vehicle and found drug paraphernalia, for which the driver was ticketed.

Officer Deshazo stopped a vehicle at 12:29 p.m. Sunday on Main Street, on a vehicle driven by a suspended driver. The driver was arrested and taken to the city jail to be booked, fingerprinted and released with a ticket. The case will be reviewed by the city courts.

At 8:30 p.m. Sunday officers stopped a motorcycle with no tags on Davidson Street. The driver was found to have a suspended license, and was arrested and taken to the police station to be fingerprinted and released with a ticket. Cpl. Manning.

Officers were dispatched at 8:58 p.m. Sunday to the 600 block of First Street for a domestic disturbance in progress. Two people were spoken to and a report was taken. Officer Shell.
