The West Plains R-7 Board of Education will meet in regular session at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the West Plains High School library, following a brief closed session set to begin at 5 to discuss legal, real estate, personnel and student matters.
The public is welcome to attend the open session; patrons unable to attend in person may join via Zoom, using meeting ID 964 00356987 and passcode 625988.
At the top of the public portion of the meeting, South Fork Elementary School will be featured in the student/staff spotlight, preceding approval of the consent agenda which includes previous meeting minutes, financial reports, staffing changes and program evaluations. Routine business to be conducted includes the payment of bills.
Under new business, a first reading will be given of a Missouri School Board Association Policy update. Board members will consider approving a salary schedule step advancement for the 2024-25 school year and a change to the current school year’s calendar. Also up for consideration will be bids relating to the baseball/softball fields and a secure hallway connection.
Reports will be given from Superintendent Dr. Wes Davis, all district building administrators, plus the activities director, technology department, public relations and communications, and special education and federal programs. A report will also be given pertaining to facilities, Human Resources, security and capital projects. Teaching and Learning updates will be given.
Prior to adjourning, a board member refresher training will be held. If necessary, the board will resume closed session discussion at the conclusion of public business.
The next meeting is scheduled for March 19.
