TICKETS

Courtney McKenzie McKee, West Plains, was ticketed at 8:46 p.m. Feb. 22 on a charge of speeding by 11-15 mph over. Officer Cary Gates.

Ian Anderson Deford, Poplar Bluff, was ticketed at 11:23 p.m. Feb. 22 on a charge of speeding by 11-15 mph over. Officer Gates.

Scott Edward Wood, Ozark, was ticketed at 7:18 a.m. Feb. 23 on a charge of speeding by 11-15 mph over. Officer Gates.

Matthew John Curry, Livingston, Texas, was ticketed at 10:36 a.m. Feb. 25 on a charge of speeding by 11-15 mph over. Officer Jim Hedlesten.

Ethan Scott Thomure, Sikeston, was ticketed at 2:25 p.m. Feb. 25 on charges of speeding by 20-25 mph over and driving a vehicle without maintaining financial responsibility. Officer Joe Barnhouse.

Michael Hanson, Willow Springs, was ticketed at 10:08 p.m. Feb. 25 on charges of failure to register vehicle and driving a vehicle without maintaining financial responsibility. Sgt. David Struble.

Eric William Ely, Willow Springs, was ticketed at 5:34 a.m. Wednesday on a charge of driving a vehicle without maintaining financial responsibility. Officer Ryan McGinnis.

INCIDENT REPORTS

At 12:19 p.m. Feb. 22, Officer Joby Hoopes responded to a report of an older couple selling fake gold jewelry at Love’s Travel Stop.

Sgt. Struble and Officer McGinnis were dispatched at 9:56 p.m. Feb. 26 to the 800 block of East Main Street for a verbal domestic disturbance.

At 8:06 a.m. Tuesday, Officer Barnhouse conducted an investigation regarding a child abuse case that occurred on Feb. 3. Charges were sent to the county prosecutor’s office.

Officer David Hocking received a call at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday for a woman at the police station who wanted to file charges relating to property damage. She said she had gotten into an argument with her ex-boyfriend, who was with her in the car, and he got out of the car after she took him to his home, then hit the car with a shovel. Her mother, the owner of the care, wanted to file charges. An estimate of the vehicle damage exceeded $750 and the man was arrested on a charge of first-degree property damage and taken to Howell County Jail. Charges are being sent to the county prosecutor for review.

At 5:37 p.m. Tuesday, Officer Barnhouse took a report of an abandoned bicycle in the area of the city pool. The bike was placed into evidence to be held as found property.

CALLS FOR SERVICE

Officer McGinnis assisted Howell County deputies with traffic control Feb. 22 on U.S. 60/63.

On Feb. 22, Officer McGinnis responded to Railroad Drive to assist emergency medical personnel with taking a patient to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains.

Officer Gates assisted a driver with directions on Feb. 23.

On Feb. 23, a person called regarding an incident but hung up the phone when asked for details.

Someone called the police department on Feb. 23 about the possibility of someone getting arrested.

Officer Barnhouse removed debris from Highway 76 on Feb. 25.

On Feb. 26, Officer McGinnis and Sgt. Struble responded to a an address on East Main Street for a report someone knocking on a door. The knocking person was a family member and everything was fine.

Officer Hocking responded on Feb. 26 to Springfield Road for a burglary call placed due to a broken entry at a vacant home. It was found to have been caused by wind blowing.

On Feb. 26, Officers Hocking and Barnhouse conducted a requested area check at a business on Industrial Drive at the time of closing.

Officer Hocking took a call from a citizen who said there was a youth “flying down the street” on Corn Avenue after school let out.

On Feb. 26, Animal Control Officer Mark Templemere responded to the area of East Valley and Center Streets for a loose animal. The animal was caught and returned to its owner on Center Street.

Officer McGinnis and Sgt. Struble responded on Feb. 26 to East Main Street for a dispute between two people.

On Tuesday, Officer Barnhouse found an unsecured building on West Main Street and checked it, nothing was out of place.

Sgt. Struble on Tuesday gave a courtesy ride to Snappy Mart.

On Tuesday, Officer McGinnis conducted an area check on Industrial Drive at a business’ request.

A person went to the police station on Tuesday to report an animal problem. ACO Templemere advised him the issue was being taken care of.

On Tuesday, a caller inquired about smoke in the area and was advised that Willow Fire Department was on the scene, along with the U.S. Forest Service. Officer Hocking.

Officer Barnhouse served a trespass notice Tuesday at an address on Fourth Street.

On Tuesday, Officer Barnhouse responded to the area of East Main Street and Industrial Drive to assist a driver with a disabled vehicle. The vehicle was parked on the side of the road, without blocking the road, and the driver had help on the way to tow the vehicle.

Officer McGinnis and Sgt. Struble responded Wednesday to a commercial alarm on Burnham Road. The manager advised an employee had set of the alarm.

On Wednesday, Officer McGinnis removed debris from the South Harris Street overpass.

Sgt. Struble spoke to people having issues regarding personal property Wednesday at the police station. It was logged as a civil matter and both parties left separately.

On Wednesday, a citizen called police about burning inside the city.

A person dropped by the police station on Wednesday to inquire about arranging a field trip there.

Officers Bloomer and Gates responded to a residence on Sunshine Drive for a disturbance, and when they arrived, an ambulance was called. Medically, the person they were concerned about seemed fine. After with speaking with both parties, a man left on his own and both were advised of the 12-hour separation rule.
