Tony Njoroge, Springfield, was ticketed at 9:59 a.m. May 4 on a charge of speeding by 11-15 mph over. Officer Hedlesten.

Zane Essien Cravens, Poplar Bluff, was ticketed at 10:36 a.m. May 4 on a charge of speeding by 20-25 mph over. Officer Hedlesten.

Reta Gae Griffin, Springfield, was ticketed at 12:38 p.m. May 4 on a charge of speeding by 11-15 mph over. Officer Hedlesten.

Dixie Anne Parks, Poplar Bluff, was ticketed at 3:17 p.m. May 4 on a charge of speeding by 11-15 mph over. Officer Hedlesten.

Dillon M. Marando, Windsor Locks, Conn., was ticketed at 4:25 p.m. May 5 on a charge of speeding by 6-10 mph over. Officer Barnhouse.

Dominica M. Wallace, Redmond, Ore., was ticketed at 7:06 p.m. May 5 on charges of speeding by 16-19 mph over and driving on a highway without a valid license. Officer Barnhouse.

Virginia E. Ransom-Nelson, Osceola, Ind., was ticketed at 2:31 p.m. May 6 on a charge of speeding by 11-15 mph over. Officer Barnhouse.

Beverly W. Sneed, Covington, Tenn., was ticketed at 4:06 p.m. May 6 on a charge of speeding by 11-15 mph over. Officer Barnhouse.

John Jacob Hale, Springfield, was ticketed at 2:37 p.m. May 8 on a charge of speeding by 11-15 mph over. Officer Hedlesten.

Jaylen Jarzavious Townes, Grenada, Miss., was ticketed at 3:41 p.m. May 8 on a charge of speeding by 20-25 mph over. Officer Hedlesten.

INCIDENT REPORTS

At 11:51 a.m. May 2, a person called city hall with a complaint about dogs barking in the neighborhood. Animal Control Officer responded to the area and noted no issues at that time.

Officer Wade Bloomer responded at 7:29 p.m. May 3 to the 1100 block of Business U.S. 60/63 for a call about shots fired. A person was arrested.

At 10:03 a.m. May 5, Cpl. David Hocking reported that on May 1 he and Officers Ryan McGinnis and Barnhouse responded to Short Street for a report of harassment resulting from a person calling police on a neighbor repeatedly. The two parties had a verbal argument and were separated. Statement forms were left for all to fill out.

Cpl. Hocking took a report from a girl and her mother at 4:15 p.m. May 6. The two had filled out statements regarding schoolmates making threats toward the girl, and told the officer school officials were handling issues, as that is where the threats occurred, and the report was for documentation only.

At 11:07 a.m. May 7, Cpl. Hocking received a complaint regarding a man caught on security camera footage passing a business on the 400 block of East Main Street several times. He had stopped and looked into the business, and took off when an alarm sounded. A report was taken and the man was identified and trespassed from the property.

Officer Barnhouse and Cpl. Hocking responded at 3:06 p.m. May 7 to the area of G&W Foods for a report of an altercation. It was found to be a verbal argument and the parties were separated for a minimum of 12 hours. No charges are pending.

At 5:20 p.m. May 7, Cpl. Hocking and Sgt. David Struble responded to Booster Field for a report of a child being harassed by an adult. The child’s parents did not want to press charges, but officers spoke to the adult who had threatened the child and advised the adult that threatening a child is a criminal offense.

CALLS FOR SERVICE

Officer McGinnis found an unsecured door at 12:14 a.m. May 2 at a business on Drew Street and checked the building.

At 12:52 a.m. May 2, Officer McGinnis found an unsecured door at a business on West Main Street and checked the building.

Officer Joby Hoopes cleared a metal object from the eastbound lane of U.S. 60/63 at 8:52 a.m. May 2.

At 11:10 a.m. May 2, ACO Templemere and Cpl. Hocking responded to North Walnut Street for an animal call. Templemere spoke to the animal’s owner.

Assistant Chief Al Lewis spoke took a call at 3:27 p.m. May 2 regarding two vehicles driving carelessly and imprudently in the area of East Third Street and North Cherry Street.

At 8:46 a.m. May 3, a person called about a dog found running around. ACO Templemere and Cpl. Hocking responded.

A caller reported a vehicle driving carelessly and imprudently at 1:28 p.m. May 3 on East Main Street. Officers Cary Gates and Hedlesten responded.

At 8:30 p.m. May 3, Officer Gates responded to a motorist needing emergency medical assistance. Other agencies were called in.

Officer Gates responded at 3:01 p.m. May 4 to a 911 dispatch regarding a missing child. While speaking to the child’s parents, the youth called and told their parents where they were.

At 3:05 p.m. May 4, someone reported a child by the road. Officer Gates responded and found the child on a carport. He spoke to the parents about the issue.

Officer Gates responded to a report of vehicles driving by the caller’s location and constantly harassing. He patrolled the area and found nothing suspicious.

At an unspecified time on May 4, police received a call about shots fired in the area of West Business U.S. 60/63. Officers Bloomer, Gates and Hoopes responded to the scene, and a person was arrested on a charge of shooting into a vehicle.

Officer Bloomer responded at 1:11 a.m. May 5 to U.S. 60/63 for a report of a semitruck driving carelessly and imprudently.

At 11:53 a.m. May 5, Officer Barnhouse assisted emergency medical services with a medical call in the area of North Grand and Park streets.

Officer Barnhouse responded at 1:43 p.m. May 5 to West Main Street for a report of trespassing in progress. When he arrived the suspect was already gone. Officers patrolled the area.

At 4:48 p.m. May 5, Cpl. Hocking responded to North Grand Street for an animal call. ACO Templemer arrived and took the animal, as it was unable to walk.

Sgt. Struble responded at 9:33 p.m. May 5 to the area of DD Highway and Pine Street to check the area after a report was made of a downed power line. City utility workers responded to take care of the situation.

At 3:58 a.m.. May 6, Sgt. Struble responded to a building on West Main Street for an open door. He checked the building and it was cleared.

Chief Wes Ellison, Cpl. Hocking and Officer Barnhouse responded at 9:10 a.m. May 6 to assist the Willow Springs Fire Department with a fire.

At 5:11 p.m. May 6, Cpl. Hocking conducted a well-being check on Bray Drive and everything was fine.

Cpl. Hocking spoke to a caller at 6:14 p.m. May 6 who wanted to report a person acting suspicious on North Ferguson Street.

At 7:17 p.m. May 6, Cpl. Hocking responded to East Main Street for suspicious circumstances. A person was trespassed from the property.

A person called the police station at 1:59 p.m. May 7 to ask if anyone had turned in a wallet.

At 3:22 p.m. May 7, a person called about a person walking down Third Street. Cpl. Hocking and Officer Barnhouse responded.

Officer Hedlesten responded at 2:20 p.m. May 8 to Ferguson Street for a report of a physical domestic disturbance in progress. He was unable to find anyone.

At 2:20 p.m. May 8, Officer Gates served a trespass notice.

Officer Gates assisted another agency at 2:29 p.m. May 8 and spoke to a person; everything was fine.

At 9:55 p.m. Officer Jake Cronin responded to West Fourth Street for a disturbance. Both parties left peacefully.

Officer Cronin responded to a disturbance call at 11:04 p.m. May 8 on West Main Street. He spoke to the reporting party and advised her of her rights.

At 11:12 p.m. May 8, Officer Cronin responded to a medical call on North Center Street and assisted emergency medical personnel.
