The West Plains Walmart grand reopening celebration on Friday included the presentation of checks to several local nonprofit groups, including $5,000 to the West Plains R-7 Bridges program. Bridges helps provide clothing, hygiene items, school supplies to students in need, the purpose to help keep them focused on their studies. Walmart’s festivities were held to mark the completion of a monthlong renovation project, finishing touches for which are still underway. Watch the Quill this week for more about the day’s events and the remodel.
