As part of the West Plains High School Buckle Up, Phone Down Challenge, West Plains High School students participated in a safe driving assembly led Friday morning by Sgt. Eddie Young of the Missouri Highway Patrol. The West Plains High School Student Council has issued a challenge to collect pledges for the Missouri Buckle Up, Phone Down (#BUPD) campaign through the Missouri Department of Transportation.. The STUCO students encourage everyone to pledge to buckle up and put their phones down while driving. Zizzer students, families and staff can take the #BUPD pledge online at www.savemolives.com/mcrs/AAAShowdown. The student council can earn $4,000 for the student competition, and a community competition could earn STUCO $1,500, said school officials.
