YOU’VA FRIEND IN THE KITCHEN: South Fork preschoolers share their favorite foods — and how to make them

Posted

Editor’s note: This is part one of a two-part column. The continuation will be published in the Nov. 8 issue of the Quill.

Readers:

In recent columns, we shared with you the favorite foods and how to prepare them as collected by Kathy Goss in her kindergarten class at West Plains Elementary in 1996. From the response I got, you surely enjoyed those and found them easy to prepare, so here is another collection, dropping down a grade to preschool and collected by my favorite teacher, granddaughter Jackie Ingalsbe at South Fork (I love you, Jackie).

Most important, she is my son Randall’s eldest daughter. She was the first preschool teacher after a long period. She opened in 2008, 15 years ago, and has remained constant. Can you tell we are proud of her?

No one fits these positions like young teachers. They take on a whole new family. Stand behind them, parents!

I had a call from one of the students in the ’96 group. I’m sorry, but I’m awful with names, but she said she was the youngest in the class, Whitney — Vanwinkle, I’m sure. She would like to have a copy of the book (I’m searching). Call again, please.

I will appreciate any single or group recipe submissions.
