Zizzers head to state

The Zizzers and Lady Zizzers competed yesterday In the class 4 sectionals held at Waynesville. The event was scheduled for Saturday but due to weather the event was postponed to Monday. The sectional meet is a State qualifying meet in which the top 4 teams and individuals in each event qualify for the State meet held this Friday and Saturday in Jefferson City! The Zizzers and Lady Zizzers had a great day qualifying several athletes onto the state championships. 

Zizzer Boys Qualifiers:

100 meter Dash-Heston Miller 1st

200 meter Dash-Heston Miller 2nd

4 x 100 meter relay team- 1st- Jason Lopez,Josh Leazer, Connor Lair,Heston Miller-Alternates Will Stauffer,Aiden Brigman

"Our athletes performed well today. We were able to qualify many on which should give us a chance at some big points at the state meet. We had several in a few events who ended up 5th and just missed qualifying. We feel for those kids as their season comes to an end but are proud of their accomplishments and how well they did this year. School records continue to be set this season, as Dagen Kenslow broke his own record in the Javelin. Natalie Stewart broke teammate Brooke Chitwood's school record in the women's Javelin. The 4 x 100 meter men's relay team broke their own record set at the conference meet and the girls 4 x 200 meter relay team continued to lower their record! It was a great day for the Zizzers. Im extremely proud of those who qualified on to state as well as those who didn't make it. These athletes represented our school and community very well,” said Coach Greg Dixon.

The Zizzers will depart Zizzer Stadium at 10:30 a.m. Thursday and everyone is welcome to come send off these great athletes.
