WILLOW SPRINGS — Willow Springs High School kicked off graduation season Friday evening as 66 seniors stepped into the world of work, higher education or military service. District administration, faculty, staff, friends and family recognized the achievement with the traditional “Pomp and Circumstance.” Outgoing Superintendent Marty Spence opened the ceremony with a congratulatory speech featuring two quotes by author C.S. Lewis: “What you see and what you hear depends a great deal on where you’re standing,” and “There are far, far better things ahead than any that we leave behind.” Spence encouraged the graduates to look toward the future. “Enjoy today and remember the fun times, but then turn the page and look forward. You will have so many opportunities ahead. You will always be a Bear, and we’re proud to welcome you as an alumnus of Willow Springs High School.”
