Two drivers were injured in a two-vehicle collision at 8:11 a.m. Jan. 24 at the intersection of St. Louis Street and BB Highway, according to West Plains Police Officer Brandon Romans.
A 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser driven northbound on St. Louis Street by Lola C. Bass, 54, Kissinger Street, reportedly entered the intersection towards BB Highway and was struck by a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck driven eastbound on east U.S. 160 by James D. Lashley, 83, Kelly Drive.
The Chrysler was pushed into a utility pole by the impact and came to rest in a ditch. Bass and Lashley each suffered moderate injuries and were transported by ambulance for treatment, according to reports. Both were wearing seat belts.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene with severe damage, the Chevrolet with front end damage and the Chrysler with driver side damage.
