10/40's cinnamon roll latte season extended, sales of drink to support cystic fibrosis research
Through Saturday, 10/40 Coffee, as a fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis of West Plains, is donating the proceeds from sales of its cinnamon roll latte, hot or iced. The coffeeshop, now under the ownership of Lynette Cooper, is open 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays at 24 Court Square. Cooper said the cinnamon roll flavor is normally offered in the fall, and it is a white mocha with cinnamon topped by a sweet cream foam sprinkled with more cinnamon. She said due to the drink's popularity it has been continued. The business also donated a $100 gift card to be auctioned off the night of the group’s benefit concert to be held Saturday. Country artist Sara Evans will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday at the West Plains Civic Center, preceded by silent and live auctions of donated items and a performance by local volunteer singing group Jessica's Friends. Tickets are now sold out, organizers announced Thursday morning. From left: Cystic Fibrosis of West Plains volunteers Katlyn Johnson and Jessica Joice-Frazier, Cooper and volunteer Lois Frazier.
