Carthage College announces honors and graduates

Madison Michel of Pomona recently graduated summa cum laude from Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisc., earning a degree in computer science.

Additionally, Matt Michel of Pomona was named to the Carthage College dean's list for the spring 2026 semester. To qualify for the list, students must achieve a minimum 3.5 grade point average while carrying at least 12 letter-graded credits.

 

CMU names honor students, grads

Several area students earned degrees from Central Methodist University in Fayette following the spring 2026 semester.

Graduates include Leticia Curtolo Barea of West Plains, Bachelor of Arts in business; Lexy Cooley of Eminence, Bachelor of Science in business; Trista Dawn Leonard of West Plains, Bachelor of Science in Nursing; Brilee Madison Menz of Caulfield, Bachelor of Science in Nursing; Emmie Christine Reed of Mtn. View, Bachelor of Science in Education for elementary education; and Taylor Elizabeth Grace Rogers of West Plains, Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

The university also announced its spring dean's list, which requires a minimum 3.5 GPA. Honorees include Cooley, Menz, Leonard and Rogers, as well as Kailynn Mariah Watson of Eminence, Brayden Scott Loftin of Ava, Megan Kathleen Mays of Winona and Crystal Sue Smith of Koshkonong.

 

Hughston graduates with honors

Madison Hughston of West Plains graduated with honors from Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls, Iowa, earning an Associate of Science in biology following the spring 2026 term.

Hughston was also named to the college's spring dean's list, which requires students to earn a minimum 3.5 GPA while completing at least 12 credit hours.

 

Midway University announces dean's list

Autumn Young of Koshkonong was named to the spring 2026 dean's list at Midway University in Kentucky. To be named to the list, a student must be classified as full-time and obtain a 3.6 GPA for the semester.

 

Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society welcomes local initiates

Gabriela Castelini of Ava, a student at Drury University in Springfield, and Lucas Ethington of Summersville, a student at Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla were recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.

Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter, typically restricted to the top 10% of seniors and 7.5% of juniors.

 

Fisher named to Rhodes College honor roll

George Fisher of West Plains was named to the spring 2026 honor roll at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn.

To qualify, a student must be enrolled in at least 16 credits of academic work and achieve a semester GPA of 3.85 or better.

 

Two earn spots on Rockhurst U. dean's list

Jennifer Partlow of Ava and Paige Sheridan of West Plains were named to the spring 2026 Dean's List at Rockhurst University in Kansas City. The honor recognizes students who have achieved a GPA of 3.5 or above.

 

Cobban makes Samford University dean's list

Daniel Cobban of West Plains, a pre-business major, was named to the Samford University dean's list for the spring 2026 semester in Birmingham, Ala. To qualify, a student must earn a minimum 3.5 GPA while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework.

 

Dobrivitz named to U. of Alabama president's list

Ella Dobrovits of Ava was named to the spring 2026 president's list at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. The list recognizes full-time undergraduate students with an academic record of 4.0.

 

University of Arkansas grad, honor students announced

Rylee Brown of West Plains graduated from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville with a Bachelor of Science in agricultural, food and life sciences.

The university also announced its spring 2026 academic honors. Emma Worsham of West Plains was named to the chancellor's list, which requires a 4.0 GPA while completing at least 12 credit hours.

Additionally, Karmi Lopez, a finance major, and Lauren Smith, a psychology major, both of West Plains, were named to the university's dean's list for achieving a GPA between 3.75 and 3.99.

 

Deshane named to UA Little Rock honors list

Caleb Deshane of West Plains was named to the spring 2026 dean's list at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. To be recognized, students must earn at least nine credit hours and maintain a minimum 3.5 GPA.

 

Ole Miss celebrates local grad, honor students

Caleb Cochran of Willow Springs graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Music following the spring 2026 semester.

Additionally, three West Plains residents were named to the university's chancellor's honor roll: Samuel Gohn, accountancy; Lauren Stewart, biochemistry; and Addison Finley, psychology. The distinction is reserved for students who earn a semester GPA between 3.75 and 4.0 while completing at least 12 graded hours.

 

Ozarka College names Fulbright Academic All-Star, celebrates honor students

Clayton Fulbright of Melbourne, Ark., a student at Ozarka College, was selected as the college's 2026 Arkansas Community Colleges Academic All-Star. Fulbright, who is pursuing an Associate of Applied Science in aviation, will receive a $500 scholarship for his outstanding academic achievement, leadership and community service.

Ozarka College also announced its president's list, requiring a 4.0 GPA, for the spring 2026 semester.

Missouri honorees include Jade Ramsey of Thayer.

Arkansas honorees from Ash Flat include Kiera Bagwell, Kaleb Briscoe, Kolby Bushey, Olivia Cox, Gale Antionette Gerundiano, Merissa Gurley, Savanna Ingram, Daniel Nanney, Catherine Pelshaw and Heather Weiand.

Other Arkansas honorees include Grasyn Sanders of Calico Rock; Nickolas Barrientos, Ava Broadway, Austin Brown, Isabelle Durbin, Abbigayle Hilton, Brittany Holm, Timothy Parker, Faith Randolph, Sarah Saulnier and Marie Tippett of Cherokee Village; Emilee Duhme, Melanie Huffmaster and Fallon McDonald of Hardy; Alexa Arnold, Raymond Cordova, Cheyenne Gilbert, Savannah McDonald, Padraic Phillips, Bethany Robbins, Kanyon Vandiver and Nikki Young of Mammoth Spring; Abby Bailey, William Bazar, Chloe Blevins, Kaleb Bolton and Audrey Howard of Melbourne; Mariah Keller, Austin Moore, Ashton Ochs and Noah Pettit of Mtn.
