Arts Alliance member events and activities:

 

Aug. 8 (7 p.m.) Live Music with Conductor, Electricide, Violets are Blue, and Mar-Q, The Yellow House, 209 W. Trish Knight St.

 

Aug. 11 (4-5 p.m.) Traditional Storyteller Danette House will give an America 250 presentation, “Revolutionary War in the Ozarks,” West Plains Public Library, 750 W. Broadway

 

Tuesdays starting Aug. 11 (5-6 p.m.) Rising Stars Youth Program for ages 7-13, Avenue Theatre, 307 Washington Ave. Visit Arts on the Avenue/Avenue Theatre on Facebook for a registration form and information.

 

Aug. 13 (6-7 p.m.) 250-Year Celebration presentation, “Modernity” by Carol Silvey, hosted by Ozarks Heritage Research Center (OHRC), Garnett Library, 304 W. Trish Knight St.

 

Aug. 17 & 18 (6-8 p.m.) Auditions for Gross Busters, youth musical to be held in October, Avenue Theatre. Arts on the Avenue/Avenue Theatre on Facebook for details

 

Aug. 22 (4 p.m.) 5th annual August Bazaar, The Yellow House.

 

Aug. 25 (6-7 p.m.) A Road Trip Into America’s Hidden Heart, hosted by OHRC, Garnett Library.

 

Aug. 26-30 (noon-4 p.m.) Entries accepted for annual Juried Fine Arts Competition, Harlin Museum, 405 Worcester.

 

Through Sept. (weekdays, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.) Art at OzSBI, Artist Lee Copen, featured on first floor of Ozarks Small Business Incubator (OzSBI), 408 Washington Ave., in partnership with WPCA.

 

Sept. 3 (4:30-6 p.m.) Artist reception for Lee Copen, OzSBI.

 

Through Sept. (during hours meals are served) Art at The Grizzly Bite, Artist Garrett Melby, 665 Missouri Ave., in partnership with WPCA.

Aug. 20 (6-8 p.m.) “Sounds Downtown” free live music with the Downtown House Band opening for Preston Ary, The Back Lot, Luster Arcade. Bring lawn chairs.

 

Sept. 3 (4-7 p.m.) First Thursday Downtown Stroll.

 

Sept. 5 (7 p.m.) Free live music event, featuring Ha Ha Tonka, with Broken Knuckle opening at The Back Lot. Bring lawn chairs.

 

Sept. 11 (8:30 a.m-12:30 p.m.) Senior Resource Fair, with free music, pancakes, prizes. First Baptist Church, 202 Walnut St.
