Benefit planned Saturday for Duckett family

Posted

A benefit chili supper and auction will be held Saturday to support the family of a baby born prematurely.

Baby Summer Duckett was born April 5 at just 27 weeks gestation and is currently receiving dedicated care in the neonatal intensive care unit. The event aims to help parents Kyle and Jasmine (Deatherage) Duckett cover unexpected expenses, including medical bills, gas, groceries and time off work.

Organizers hope the benefit will allow the family to focus on their daughter's health and strength.

The fundraiser will take place at the Peace Valley Community Center, 5814 County Road 3250. A chili supper, available by donation, will begin at 5 p.m., followed by an auction led by Reid Auction at 6 p.m.

Donations can be made the night of the benefit. Those who wish to contribute but are unable to attend may contact Johnna Decker at 417-293-2788 or Bethany Busbey at 417-293-1028.
