Berean Baptist Church will host its annual Back to School Bash at 7 p.m. Friday, offering free school supplies, food and family activities. Organizers hope to welcome more than 100 attendees to the free community event.
Students preparing for the upcoming academic year can receive necessary school supplies, including notebooks, markers, crayons and glue. The event is open to all ages, and siblings, family, friends and neighbors are invited to attend.
Outdoor activities will include access to the church's playground, which features a giant slide, a bounce house, toys and games.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to make crafts such as zipper pulls, lanyards, necklaces, bracelets and keychains using colored beads and wooden or metal crosses. Free food and treats will be provided, including snow cones, hot dogs, chips, sides and desserts.
The event will feature two unique photo opportunities for families. One is a "Kid'leidoscope," which produces a kaleidoscope-style picture of the subject. The other photo station is designed to encourage students to exhibit positive behavior and Christ-like love at school. The cutout board highlights how a student's mind, eyes, ears, mouth, heart, hands, knees and feet can promote a successful school year while reminding parents to pray for their children.
Berean Baptist Church is located north of West Plains at 7050 County Road 2570. Pastor Fred Palmer and the congregation invite the public to attend. For more information, visit the Berean Baptist Church West Plains Facebook page.
