Ozarks Healthcare has welcomed Dr. Andrea Moyer, an invasive, noninterventional cardiologist with more than 20 years of experience, to its Heart and Lung Center.
Moyer’s areas of expertise include diagnostic cardiology, echocardiography and women’s heart health. She earned her medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine, completed an internal medicine residency at George Washington University Medical Center, and finished a cardiovascular fellowship at Saint Louis University Health Sciences Center. She is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular medicine, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology.
Prior to joining Ozarks Healthcare, Moyer served in leadership roles at other Missouri institutions, including as Director of Women’s Cardiology at St. Luke’s Hospital and Medical Director of Noninterventional Cardiology at SSM St. Clare Hospital. Her clinical experience is complemented by a robust history of academic research, professional society involvement and a deep commitment to patient-centered care, said officials.
“I enjoy the challenge and complexity of cardiology,” said Moyer. “I’ve always been detail-oriented, and I like spending that extra five minutes with patients to really understand their needs. That time makes a difference — not just in diagnosis, but in building trust.”
Moyer, who is originally from a rural area in Vermont, said joining Ozarks Healthcare felt like a natural fit.
“I actually grew up on a dairy farm in rural Vermont, so small towns and close-knit communities like West Plains feel like home to me,” she said. “Ozarks Healthcare feels very personable — it’s not a big corporation.”
“Dr. Moyer brings exceptional clinical experience and leadership to our team,” said Jacob Petrus, vice president of Physician Services and Operations at Ozarks Healthcare. “Her dedication to personalized, evidence-based care will be a great asset to our patients and our region.”
Moyer is now seeing patients at the Ozarks Healthcare Heart and Lung Center. For more information or to schedule an appointment, visit www.ozarkshealthcare.com or call 417-257-5950.
